well yesterday morning i decided to go to work a dif way to what i normally go.....and as i pulled out of a junction hit a patch of oil/crap rear wheel just let go (new tyre not run in) and chucked the bike down the road bout 15mph... damage to bike is:

front brake lever is now a 1 finger only lever
rear brake pedal bit bent
rng crash bung bit buggered and bent
and exhaust slightly scratched.

damage to me... right side all bruised puntured lung which i have to go back to hospital for tomorrow.

ride safe all :)

Strange, but my friend just had a very similar accident at 15mph pulling out of a junction. Stranger still there was no deisel/oil/crap in the area and still can't understand what or why. He ended up with similar damage to bike and broked colar bone in two places. Get well soon guys.

Punctured lung!? You don't do anything by halves haha. Glad the bike is fine though, was it the sv I guess? See, its never when you are doing wheelies, only when pulling out of junctions. Hope you are ok soon Ian!

That's a bugger. But it seems the crash bung did what it was supposed to, so at least something went right.

I have to say, I am a bit confused that you are out and about with a punctured lung. Having suffered from one of these in the past it normally means having a tube stuffed through your ribcage and into your lung so that it can still function, deposit the bleeding and have time to heal. Normally meaning a couple of days at the least in hospital.

That's the spirit, get a nearly new one from someone in the third world. That way you won't have to deal with the depreciation. ;)

Ah bugger, GWS dude.

Yer I didn't go to the same extent but mine was pretty close and its something that you kind of notice if your lung isn't working effectively.

I have however successfully completed a burnoutwheelie. I was mighty impressed. I was trying to do a wheelie in rather damp conditions but span the rear. Rather than loose face I kept the throttle pinned. As the the forward momentum increased the traction came back and I went from burnout to wheelie in one easy and fluid movement.

I don't think I'll ever be able to duplicate that in a million attempts. Pure fluke it was.

Yeah I crashed.

The only genuine stoppy i've done( i mean not pathetically small) was when i was following Ogden to Aylesbury. He overtook a bin lorry and i planned on overtaking, however another car apeared around the corner so i dodged in behind the bin lorry. Unfortunately the bin lorry decided to brake, maybe as Ogden had just dodged in, so i had to brake hardcore style and the front just dived and the rear took off. I was so close to parking my bike in that lorry.....but sssh it's a secret. :p

Ah yes, the accidental stoppie. I did a weird stoppie/slide when my mate overtook a car and then I overook it. Only my mate hadn't told me that we would be turning left stright after the car so I had to grab everything and still get around the corner while avoiding said car. I made it. Somehow.

Hmm, it is sad that someone died but a lot of these chaps seem to not give a toss for our laws.
