When i bought my first bike a year and a half ago i bought myself a pair of gloves off ebay for ?20. They have done me fine - but were neither summer or winter gloves - so i've been hot in summer and cold in winter.
Now i am going through the process of replacing all my kit with seperate summer and winter versions. I've already got a lovely pair of heated gloves for winter, and am after something for summer.
Not really worried about the cost - would rather spend big on something really good than buy cheap again and get no better than what i've got.
As well as recommending some specifi gloves - what should i be looking for in a summer glove? Vented leather? carbon or kevlar knuckles?
Thanks.

I've got a pair of Racer summer gloves, they cost me about ?100 3 years ago and they're still going strong despite the small off i had in them. They were comfortable from day, normally armoured gloves make my hands ache but these don't

if you're after short cool summer gloves the vented Alpinestar Octane's are pretty good.
I've got a pair of kangaroo palmed Dianisie summer gloves(can't remember the model) as well which are very good, but can feel a little thin (which I like), they were a bit pricey ( about ?130 if I remember right) but the palm is one peice so no seams.
Cheers Mark.

Alpinestar (SP1s) and HeinGericke gloves are both pretty nice, the HG ones come with Kangaroo palms for £80, the same price as the SP1s, both have a double closure on the wrist so feel secure.

I bought Triumph Carbon gloves, mainly cos of the fit, and that they came high up in a ride test.

Alpinestars GP Pro.
Comfy, soft, didnt need any breaking in period. Have vents so on hot summer days you get airflow through your fingers.
Not cheap though, but I'm really pleased with mine.

My current gloves are the Phantom's predecessor, the Galaxy, which I find extremely comfy

Mmmm, I think I may have to get some of those in green/white!
Another vote for SP1s, found that they prevent windchill much better than my old summer gloves, but still arent recommended below about 8 degrees! They are pretty good though.
Personally I like the Dainese Speed Metal gloves. Very comfy, great feel through them, lots of protection (I like the bit that stops your little finger snapping backwards in an accident) and, completly shallow, the titanium knuckles / hand protectors look stunning. Only issue is that they were not cheap...
