K2 650 Fuel Tank

Could anyone tell me if there are any significant differences in fuel tanks from K2 to K3 onwards?
My wife has a K2 that needs a new tank. I have found one, but the seller isn't sure if it will fit.
Any help gratefully received.

The tanks are not interchangeable!

I can see the differences now.
Bad news for me, though - the one I found for sale is a pointy. I need a curvy.
What's the word I'm looking for........?
