Does anyone know where I can get an Akropovic E sticker to put on my can, my marking has rubbed off and I believe you can buy Akropovic stickers to replace them?

MOT time and not sure if it needs one, if they only few pounds I will invest to be on the safe side.

Thought Akrapovic stamped it on, or are you on about one of those universal "I am lying through my teeth as this is really a race can" 'E' marked stickers??? If so I wouldn't bother, if the they are gonna fail it without the sticker they will be the type to fail it with the sticker!

I dont think you need an "E" mark on your can now to get it through an MOT, it just needs to not be stamped with "Not for road use" or "Race use only" and it needs to not be stupidly loud and then it should go through. I think..

the blueflame can on my SV has no e-mark on it, and it gets MOT'd OK with the baffles in the can.

I was told the same thing, if there are no markings it's up to the testers discretion

Mine got through it's MOT with the akrapovic system fitted although i did have the baffle fitted

What those 2 said - BSU/ E stamps are gone now for MOT testing.
It's up to the tester's discretion as to whether they pass on "noise" level.

Got a scorpion on mine, no baffles. Think my MOT tester likes the sound of it though... :D

They're right Shell, you don't need an E mark, it's down to the tester to decide if it falls within acceptable limits in his opinion. If it's marked as not for road use then he has every right to fail it without even hearing it. If it has not for road use markings then a simple piece of insulating tape over it is enough cos he's not allowed to take the tape off to see what's under it.

Thats my understanding of it. If the MOTer doesnt think it's too loud, then he can pass it.
If the can is a race one & you buy one of those things off ebay to say it's legal, it can be construde as fraud
Just to add another note.Shell, if you want a standard can I have a spare in my shed that you can have free of charge seeing as my new bike has a std one on as well :)

They are only there for the old bill to look for, no 'E' stamp at all means a ticket too now a days.

Well, it's always meant a ticket really.

Never had any bother with mine though, and neither did my brother before me.
Just as long as you're not riding like a ****, the old bill (round here at least), don't take any notice.

Cheers guys, I asked some work mates and go conflicting info about the E stamp and MOT's so I figured have one anyway.

Think I may take ya up Mister C and put a standard on, my can is VERY loud even with the baffle in. I don't expect it for free tho so PM me and we can sort summat out.

When I had my off last year my ex (bless the t**t) went on ebay and bought and identical can but it had no baffle in, got in touch with Akropovic but they wanted silly money. In the end we adapted my old baffle (different size hole) but I think it kinda didnt work too well. He bought the can thinking I would be happy as it was same as old one I trashed and it was ?180ish, can't really afford to buy a new can at the mo to replace it.

Yes for all those that said it .... I should know better but I been outta touch for almost 10 months (my excuse and I'm sticking to it LOL)

Just go to a proper MOT station, wouldn't suprise me if my local one failed people for being too quiet :-P

A MOT tester can fail it on the can regardless of whether its stamped or not. It is COMPLETELY down to him! Also, the actual law on exhausts states that the 'E' Mark must be engraved or acid etched on to the can (I was very upset when I learnt this through a course for work as my Viper can has a sticker not engraved e mark) An exhaust manufacturer (the course I did in conjunction with Performance Parts who supply Remus and Akrapovic) may meet all the criteria (under 80db etc) but ultimatley it is down to the individual police officer/MOT tester to pass or fail.

As long as the can isn't offensively loud and the MOT tester isn't a miserable old killjoy, you should be fine.

True, no 'E' or 'BS' stamp and you are entitled to a ticket from the old bill as its nolonger there job to prove the can is illlegal.

I'm in a spot of bother on this subject too. I have a full race arrow system (fitted by previous owner). Did not come with a baffle. It's loud. The police in Bristol don't seem to notice it though, so long as I keep a low profile (i.e. don't rev/ride like a tool). I damaged it in december when I had a small off and one of the braces on the can was torn. The original brace was not stamped in any way. Arrow sent me a new one from Italy which was marked "not for road use". Took it up the road to be riveted onto the can. Thought it'd be cheeky of my to tell the shop to rivet it inside out so the marking is not visible, but assumed naively that they would do so to match the original. I was wrong. My can is now marked "not for road use". Dremmel?!?!?!!!!! What do I do?

You can pass an MOT with a can stamped 'not for road use' depending on the tester. However if you get pulled by the old bill they only look for a 'E' or 'BS' stamp and if you have neither of these then you will get a ticket, this means having a non marked can is the same as having a can stamped 'not for road use'. So for you there is no difference really.
