Cartridge was dry. Refilled it with a tesco refill kit but I'm getting nothing out if it. I've held the cartridge on a wet piece of toilet paper and had ink coming through but I'm getting no output onto paper. What's going on people? How can I sort this?

how long has it been dry for ? do you have a head cleaning programe in the untilities ? could well be dried ink on the head.

Cheers Mark.

It's got clean to fix horizontal stripes and an allign function. Done the clean thing loads of times and tried printing a solid black page but getting nothing out at all. Probably been dry for a good year or two.

+1, clogged with dry ink is the most likely problem.

If the cleaning routine hasnt worked, then take a bit of wet kitchen roll and gently wipe it over the head on the printer itself ( if it has one ) and generally give the place where the catridge slots in a wipe over to.

Then try the cleaning routine again. If that doesnt work, then try a new cartridge, I hate those damn refill kits they never used to work and would give problems like you have or would just end up plastering the works with ink.

If that doesnt work then its probably FUBAR.

dell cartridges like to tell the computer they're dead; and so not work.

Have the same problem this week but the right to receive an error message immediately left work shortly after I finished so I know what I did wrong. The so-called Dell support and sent the tape and clean the contacts of my article but I suspect by the end cartridge error although it is not even half empty.
