******** to removing the clock mount with spoons.
The clocks IIRC are removed by a few bolts, then a few screws to remove the back, then the innards can be gently removed. You remove the needles from the clocks' face with spoons.
It is dead easy, but fiddly to change the LEDs, assuming you're very competent with a soldering iron and you have a set of fine tweezers, lowish power (10-15w will do) very fine tipped (needle tip if possible) iron, good quality solder sucker or some solder braid handy. If you don't it'll be at best a pain and at worst you'll be easily capable of knackering the clocks.

i bought it from chewy's. he sent me some instructions but they start "once you remove the clock face" then the rest is in black and white. it's just i don't know how to remove it in the first place. i have a T.V. electrician repairer who will do the soldering of the LED's, so not bothered there. i'm gonna go on E-bay as i've seen a manual you can buy on disk for my comp that covers all sorts including servicing/repairs and others, i'm hoping removing the clock is in the others section.
so cheers peepz thanx for the advice.
lee.

That disc wont cover stripping the clocks as that isn't something normally done. The disc you're talking about is the service manual and parts diagrams I believe. Ask chewy to e-mail you with full instructions and he should oblige.

Hi There...
Hope this helps a bit?
You can remove the Instrument Unit by carrying out the following:
1) Remove screen - Assuming you have the S model.
2)Remove black clock surround - may require some force to pop out of the rubbers! (there are two plastic pins that push into a rubber). This should now give access to the back of the clocks. There is also one of those push pins right at the front of the moulding, you should see it when you remove the screen.
3)Pull out the electrical connector - Multipin Rectangular Plug.
4) There are two nuts that hold the clocks in place, remove these.
5) The clocks should now pull away from the front frame, IIRC, there are another two of those pins and rubbers?
In Haynes fashion, Installation is the reverse of removal. :D
(This is done from memory so may not be 100% correct! lol!)

my disc came and it covers fu@kin everything it completely
shows the clock stripped to nothing and how to do it step by step.
E-Bay £6.99 bloody bargain if you ask me. it really does cover the lot top to toe, the one disc covers the curvy and the pointy both faired and unfaired the disc is absolutely packed with info, trouble shooting, maintenance, and just generally stripping everything, it even is full of pictures in the guide. i'm gonna strip this weekend weather permitting.
