For sale SV650S trackbike (could potentially be put back on the road)

Ok this is a project I built up over the past 10 months or so, it was to resurrect a crashed damaged bike (nicknamed Phoenix). The donor bike had a fontal which even snapped the frame, therefore pretty much most of it has been replaced really and it is a new bike apart from the engine and rear swingarm etc!! :D

This is about the only ‘finished’ picture I have of it. The one for sale is the one with the headlights to the left of this pic. (pic stolen from Cazza)

I say headlights, they are actually just the lenses, the headlight was badly damaged so I just chopped the lenses off to fill the gap in the fairing!

The top fairing has been fixed with more than just the duck tape you see! It was a jigsaw puzzle that I fibreglassed back together from the inside, I left the tape on .. well coz I think it looks cool!! :D).

The frame is one I got off eBay and looked/looks undamaged, I don’t have the V5 mind you, but the frame has all its numbers (I can give perspective buyer the number and they can do a check to find out if it was nicked in a previous life, but as I said, I bought it in good faith off eBay and the bloke assured me there was nothing ‘wrong’ with it, it was just surplus to requirements ..)

It also has some Bandit 600 forks. Again as you will be able to see from the footage, there is nothing wrong with the forks being off a bandit! ;)

Anyway, I built it as a track bike and it had its maiden voyage at Silverstone. As you can see from the resulting footage there is nothing ‘wrong’ with it and it’d make someone a great first trackbike 8)

if that doesn't work, try this

The bike is totally standard bar some braided lines, a race can and some peg raiser plates to try and increase ground clearance. You could get a daylight MOT as it is (would need a quiet can) or you could get some headlights, indicators and mirrors and its back to normal road bike. All the wiring is standard, so the bits should just plug straight in!! :)

Bike is located in Portsmouth area and I am after £800 for the bike alone or £975 with WOW (wets on wheels inc discs). I can deliver at cost to a reasonable mileage.

I’ll take some proper pics too.

The weird thing is, after buying your other second trackbike, I'm sorely tempted to buy this too. Not going to mind, but still. :D

But the engine is as good as any on this one. I should know as it was mine.

Its kinda implicit in the video the engine runs ok ;)

But then (and perhaps I shouldn't say this ) there is a similar video of chakraist's bike too (http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=EodhjJ_32GQ)!! :D - but these things happen and he/we were just unlucky!

Just took some pics ... :)

If you want you can take the black tape off the front fairing, it is fiberglassed from inside so structurally ok without the tape 8)

Oh and Northwind wanted the rear seat, so I let him have it a while back (I just used the one off my road bike at Silverstone, hence why it is missing in the pic! I'm sure eBay could solve that for you!!! ;)).

You can have the standard can too, I chopped it off and put an old race can on to give me more ground clearance :) Just to make it clear, the bike will come with the can you see on it in the pics below AND the stock can (if you want it) :)

Surely that is just take the fairing off and fit SV-N clocks and clock mount?

Or did you want big bars too?

Why would you want a nekkid track bike

Wouldn't track it, have it for road. Fancy a nekkid!

Ah, right, its prolly more cost effective to just buy a road nekkid ... I don't have the bits to make it a nekkid.

But I'd knock £50 off the price if I kept the clocks and the fairing bracket as they would be useless to you, but of use to me! :)

Make it Nakid like TSM & Northwind sometimes run theirs. I.e. no fairing but still 'S' headlight & clocks
Ah but this doesn't have a headlight  ignore me

Now Sold!

I was foolish enough to purchase it yesterday...

I'm now the proud owner of two curvy yellow SVs :)
