http://nhlbisupport.com/bmi/
I'm 2 numbers over weight
21.9. Pretty average I guess. I don't read a lot into that, though.

I am obese! :smt103 I need to be 12st to not to be overweight even. I was 12st 5lbs when I used to do triathlons, so was even overweight then according to BMI. (I had about 15% body fat in them days)
BMI is rubbish IMHO

24.1 phew just missed out on being a larda$$.
on the subject of lard ar.se. did anyone watch the program Extraordinary People last night. Huge Mexican man who appeared to live in a bed in a shop window. He weighed 90 stone. But was either very bendy or his hips were dislocated as his feet pointed straight out to either side as if he was doing the splits. He was mahoosive:elephant:

why did you feel sorry for him? I dont understand how he could be so overweight. He had not got out of bed for 5 years. Someone (his mum probably) must have been bringing him food and lots of it. Yet everyone was giving him free clothes, dental treatment, diet advice, doctors visiting him at home. genuinely ill people dont get treatment like that.

Yeah fair point, just dont like this anti fat attitude in this country, its complicated tbh.

i could not be described as slim in anyones books (well maybe his) but I dont understand why people put t hemselves at risk like this. If he cant get out to get his own food his family should sort a healthy diet out for him. He doesnt work how can he afford to eat so much??? Glad he didnt opt for the surgery, good to see that healthy eating does actually work - may try it myself one day lol

I won't repeat what my DOCTOR thinks of B.M.I. and especially not on Idle Banter (U Rated). It's safe to say that me and my belly agree with him.
And NO- he doesn't have one the lucky sod.

... diet advice....
Interesting diet advice :D Presumably the cake-plan diet :D
I'm in two minds whether to fight the current anti-fat attitude that's gathering speed here; the liberal lefty part of me thinks this just stinks of government sponsored bullying and victimisation, then the selfish part of me thinks "where were the cheese burger fan club when it was smokers being victimised and bullyed?". This is no different, and I can guarantee the arguments will be exactly the same, cake costs the NHS millions every year, it kills people way before their time, sooner or later some government sponsored research will claim "second hand lard" can kill...

totally, I am nearly obese according to it. I am definitely not obese barely overweight at the mo.
The thing takes no account for build, muscle and bone structure and I cant see how its become a measure of health.
