This one belongs in Fact of the Day- actually, it already is in fact of the day, but it was ages ago. My grandad was one of the master bakers who invented the jaffa orangey bit. The other was the actor Ian Richardson's dad. Orangey blood flows in these veins! But neither one of them got a payout or recognition for it.

There is an art, that i have perfected over many packets of Jaffa cakes, of jaffa cake dunking.

Dunk jaffa cake in hot tea, but get it out in into waiting gob either
a) the chocolate melts
or
b) the sponge disintergrates.

Hours of fun can be had perfecting the technique, my best is seventeen from 1 cup of tea before getting one wrong.

best way to eat these utterly lovely jaffa cakes is with a tub of ice cream.

Open tub and allow to stand for a couple of minutes until ice cream starts to soften.

Then using jaffa cake scoop ou some ice cream and ram into gob.

repeat until: -

1) you run out of jaffa cakes.

2) you run out of ice cream

3) both 1 & 2.

1) Nibble around the outside, so you get sponge and choc only.

2) Separate the Choc Orange from the sponge.

3) Eat the sponge

4) Lick the chocolate off of the orange

5) Suck the Orange until it dissolves........

I think that Jaffa cakes are absolutley disgusting and 'orrible and should not be inflicted on ANYONE...

Well i to used to be a lover of Jaffa Cakes... until i discovered Jaffa Cake Bars. OMFG!!!! They come in a pack of 5 and i gotta say that if i open a packet then they're all gone.

Also the "normal" jaffa cakes have been replaced with ones that say "even orangier" (or somesuch) on the packet and the orange bit tastes, well, too orangey.

Has anyone tried the Lemon & Lime Jaffa cakes? They're lovely. They did launch blackcurrant Jaffa cakes too, but they were just wrong and I think that they might have been withdrawn.
