lucky sod, his wife has to be the most understandable woman in the world.
She's fit, maybe someone should be taking care of business while he's away.

I'm with Lozzo, Boorman's batting way above his league.

So two seperate ride outs? One to ride with Boorman, and one to ride... I'll stop there :D

Im off on 15th April and im well up for meeting Charlie........ anyone else???
MiniMatt

If I can get the bike fixed (again - this would be so much easier if I stopped falling off) then yeah I might, dependent upon (a) weather, (b) sleepiness, (c) previous night's alcohol intake.
She's really not Lozzo!
I should hope she's not Lozzo, he's an ugly bloke who's never met Charlie Boorman let alone slept with him.
Im off on 15th April and im well up for meeting Charlie........ anyone else???
"Hello Charlie, when exactly does your trip start...and does your wife "miss" you when you're away?"
She's a bit too "posh" looking for me.
Think about it, how lucky has Boorman been? He was an average actor not in any particular work, goes on a round the world trip with his famous mate and then becomes a globetrotter for a living!
I like posh - the best girlfriends I've ever had have been posh ones with degrees or PhDs.

My best posh girlfriend's parents had two Jag XK8s, a Ferrari Monduial, a 911, a swimming pool and a tennis court and lived in Henley.
I dumped her and now work on Teesside.
I've never been the best in life at making decisions ;)
PS no disrespect to Teesside, but the family was rolling in it.

I live a few miles from Henley. I'm not looking for a partner though. ;) :p
Id have stuck with Henley on the face of it...
I did actually once date quite a posh lass and she was a lovely maiden. Such a shame that nothing came of it.

MiniMatt
06-04-08, 01:50 PM
Allegedly 8:30am according to the MCN link. Oxford ring road traffic is pretty grim in the morning tho, so if you're coming from the west allow extra time.
Not so sure whether I'll be there. I think a lot of us are looking at our bikes in a different light this morning.

If we have a list of people that are going then swap phone numbers, might be a good idea if there are loads of people it could be mission findong everyone in the crowd.

He may have his time taken up with wife and kids, but give it a go.

MiniMatt
15-04-08, 01:21 PM
Nice to meet the new people ... Was abit of an anti-climax...
Have you been speaking to my other half? :D
Yep, there's only so much excitement one can generate from a 60mph dawdle down the M40 from Oxford to London, but the sheer scale of the thing was quite impressive. Guestimate a couple of hundred bikes totally swamped the motorway all the way down, and because everyone had to go at about 60 (can't break teh law on television now can you, that and Boorman was riding a bonebreaking oil spilling decrepit bike - or "classic" to those in the know) we formed an impenetrable rolling road block all the way from Ox to London :D The odd sales-rep that got caught up in it (and doubtless the countless thousands caught behind it) must have been royally pee'd off :D "Bloomin bikers, never break the speed limit, always riding at sensible speeds..."
Some very nice bikes on show tho, and some *extremely* loud ones :D

Teehee - we ARE famous after all - http://www.oxfordmail.net/news/headlines/display.var.2199259.0.bikers_launch_epic_trip.php
As predicted, the comments are a hoot :D
"When they are not speeding they think they have the right to clog up the M40 with a convoy – such is the arrogance of some bikers"
Wish I'd been able to go.
Comments are funny on the news item, apparently we're all thick and can't understand long words like........ errrm what was it? :D
Poor car drivers, have to try and impress us somehow!

The series starts on TV this Sunday, BBC2, 20:00. Not sure if the Oxford-London bit will be in this week's show or next, but still worth a watch :D
