Yep, quite a while back, did it whilst harnessed in as there were two of us in there (suspect two people might whack eachother about a bit if left loose).

The folks who did it with water got suprisingly wet from only a small amount of water, we didn't.

Great fun yep, but a little bit anti climactic in a way; ulitimately it's probably tamer than many fairground rides, just a more novel approach.

Did it at the Dorchester one. Really good fun. Me and a mate did it - you don't get strapped in, you just hold onto the handles, and there are techniques to get them moving faster.

Tip- if you do aquazorbing (we didn't, but did watch those that did) take a spare set of clothes and lots of towels as you get absolutely drenched.

When you are aquazorbing you can actually run in them, so no holding on, you just try and leg it with your mate - gravity stops you from wacking each other for most of the ride until it stops.

Great fun, but only lasts about a minute.

Also if you are thinking of doing it - DON"T DO IT THROUGH RED LETTER DAY /Others - It is much cheaper to turn up or book it on the companies website. It cost my girlfriend about ?60 to buy it for me, and was only about ?25 on the day (can't remember exactly).

I did it, just a few miles from Corfe Castle a few years back.

If there are 2 of you in there, they will tie you up, if you are by yourself, they will add water (or you will get plastic burns).
It's not especially exhillarating - I didn't get any sense of danger. I think to make the most of it you have to stand up in it, run with it, as soon asyou fall over, you make evey effort to get back up again.

Personally, I felt they needed a steeper hill than the one I did it on. But it's a good laugh, enjoy yourself.

I'm going with a friend and i think we've decided to go unharnessed and with water. We paid ?35 for the both of us, that price was direct from the place we are going which fortunatly is only just down the road really. Going about 3pm so just keeping my fingers crossed the wind doesn't pick up any more or it may be cancelled.

My brother went just before the winter to the one in Dorchester. He went unharnessed. Loved it! Not sure on details but he did one going down the hill where they chuck watewr in with you!

I've just looked this up as have never heard of it, looks like something to try at least once :)

What happens if your unharnessed and you trip up? :p Wouldn't it get a bit scary? Or are you only on a gradual slope?

Just to check we are on about a human hamster ball right?

The slope is pretty gentle - maybe 15 degrees.
You start running and then you will slip over - the water in the ball makes it difficult to stand up and of course, it's an inflatable, so it's not like running on solid ground so you loose your footing. because of the water, you won't get carpent (plastic) burns, so that side of things is fine.
At this point (sitting on your ar*e / laying on your face), you have 2 options - do what my brother in law did - just lay there and gradually roll to the bottom, but that's pretty boring, or do what I did, try your best to stand up again, and start running again until you fall over.

I'd be surrpsied if anyone found it scary (tho I'm more than aware of how irrational fear can be - I'm scared of going up more than 2-3 rungs on a ladder!).

Ah ok, not too scary then :p Although I might be if it has water in it, I hate the sound of water in my ears....but then it's probably nothing like I'm imagining it to be!

Might stick it on my list of things to do/experience :D

Major sufferer of migraine.

I can sympathise greatly, my mum gets them something chronic, just glad they don't seem to have been passed down to me.
