Oh god i have just come back from holiday and read this. I am absolutely shocked, I feel really sick, and I am very very upset. Mark was one of my best friends from this forum, we used to talk every day on MSN whilst I was at work and he was slacking off being a student. At the TVSF meets he was really funny and fun, and you could tell he was a really intelligent guy to boot. He livened up this forum always playing devil's advocate with a wry smile. What a terrible terrible loss at such a young age. Ogden Dan and Flibble, dudes, I feel for you too, it must have been terrible. I am thinking of all of you right now. His poor family too. Man it must be ten times worse for them. I never got round to his house, I still don't even know if the address I gleaned from him was right or not. I was going to pop round some time and find out but now I can't :( . I just feel sick, he was such a fun guy.

RIP Mark, and strength to all those who had the joy of knowing you.

I have only just read this, and am now gob smacked.

This forum is like a family, we are friends, yet still squabble and spit dummies etc. However, when something happens to one, we all hurt.

My condolences, to Mark, his family and friends.

Terrible, terrible news.

Although I never met Mark or exchanged any dailogue with him on this forum, it's clear by this and his many other posts he will be immensely missed by family and friends alike and my thoughts are with them.

Rest in peace.

Gary.

Such a shame. Such a waste. We'd often have a laugh winding people up on here. Sadly I'll now never meet him.

I propose a toast to Mark at AR08.

RIP Mark

Condolences to his family and friends.

I never met him, but I know he will be sorely missed from the forum.
As Timwilky said, we are like a family, when something like this happens to one of us, we all hurt, regardless of our differences or how far away we are.

Another vote here for a permanent place in Fallen Friends for him.

Only met ASM the once when I turned up at a TV ride out to Brighton a couple of months ago. Didnt really get much chance to chat with him but seemed like a decent bloke. Thoughts to his friends and families.

Hope his family and all you guys present can cope with it all.

Everyone take care out there!

i saw this thread as soon as it was posted yesterday, and felt like someone had pulled the floor from under me, we shared a name and similar age, i couldn't bring myself to reply until now

words can't describe how you feel when you discover someone who you may not have even known personally, but had still developed a friendship with through a community like this, is so cruelly taken from you.

i can only offer my deepest sympathy for those affected...

RIP ASM - Gone but never forgotten:-(

I went back to the scene this evening, having put it off all week. I still don't quite understand how it happened where it did, but it was touching to see how many people had dropped off flowers and read the notes that had been left. Seeing the photo someone (Nick numbers?) had left choked me up good and proper (as does re-reading the post that started this thread - that was raw).

I'll give a +1 to the printout thing - I get the impression his folks value the impact he had on people outside their circle.
