This is just about the hardest thing I've ever written.

Mark died today in an accident on the A4074 riding home from Fox's diner.

RIP, you fat NOT french git. You've left a big hole in this group.

What happened? Is everyone else OK?

We didn't see the accident itself, just the aftermath. Everyone else (that is, Dan, flibble & I) is physically OK but I think feeling a bit messed up atm.

There's a news item on the TV police web site that gives as much information as needs to be known. I really don't feel like posting the gory details, they're playing over in my mind enough as it is. Nobody should have to see a friend die.

I'd appreciate it if we could keep this thread for condolences rather than grim curiosity and I'm sure the others involved would agree.

Am so sorry to hear such tragic news and my condolences to all Marks family and friends. My thoughts are with you all. My sympathy to those of you who were with Mark and had to witness the loss of your friend.

It really makes me feel sick inside that our lives can be wiped out so suddenly and the lives of those who love us altered so drastically in the blink of an eye.

Read this earlier, wasn't sure if I would post on this thread.

After all, never met him, so wouldn't posting just be empty words?

Did a search of all his posts, and read through a few of them, and realised just how much a part of the org is now going to be missed.

So Rest In Peace Mark, you will be missed.

whilst I only met him twice in person at TV meets from all indications he was a genuinely nice guy, not really anything in common except for a passion for bikes and riding, but that was more than enough.

through emailed discussions he came across as more considered than his years would suggest, a valued member to be missed for sure.

RIP.

If any help is needed at this difficult time please consider any support I'm able to offer there but for the asking.

Cheers Mark.

I've been up for just about most of the night, my thoughts constantly with Mark.

For those that didn't know him;

Like most he almost had a dual personality, those that knew him and those that didn't. On this forum he gave out a bolshy, self confident demeanor and a lot of the time came across as a higher than mighty, self opinionated git. Reality was, he was a very shy person. He kept himself very much to himself and hardly ever talked about his family or personnel circumstances. He wouldn't say a bad word to anyone for fear of offending. It was only when you got to know him, you could see past that barrier and the true charisma and whit of a this kind man come through. He constantly hid behind his quick sarcasm using his obvious intelligence and quick whit as a shield.

The last time I met him was on Tuesday whilst getting tyres fitted to our bikes and whilst we waited, we chatted. For the first time we chatted about him. He had plans. If most asked, they would have been given the impression he was fumbling his way through life without a clue where he was going or what he was going to do. But he had direction and focus. He was determined to follow in his brothers footsteps and join the military as an officer. I am sure he would have been very successful. He had already shown plenty of leadership qualities in organising rideouts and such.

Mark was someone that the more you learnt about him, the more you liked him. He just wasn't the easiest of persons to really get to know. I was fortunate enough to have a little insight into the real person. A superb and charismatic person. Cared very much about people and loved life. He will indeed be sorely missed. I miss him already.

Goodbye Mark. Rest in peace.

Just to echo what Si said, he really did have two very different sides to him. The outspoken joker, always having a laugh and the quieter, shy and polite person he was deep down. While I only recently got to know the 'real' Mark, I like many others, felt he had great potential and he talked of one day running his fathers business. This place won't ever be the same with the loss of such a likeable character, I still can't beleive he is gone.
