anyone know where i can do it round here?
i can nearly get it down the the peter cooper rounder-bout but i don't feel confident on my right side so i want to know if theres anywhere else?
the slip road going from the marchwood bypass onto the A35 is a good long right hander but you can only do it once unless you go back round which takes age's

Pitty your not in South Wales.. plenty of Knee downs around here, right and left knees.. corners, roundabouts, and slip roads... hence why I dont own a knee slider that hasn't touched the tarmac :p

Back to the thread. ;O)
You could always try the Cadnam GP, used to keep me busy when I should have been at college. There are some gouges in the tarmac there thanks to me!
Lap between the roundabout at the M27/A31 and A336/A31 junctions. See here:
http://www.multimap.com/maps/?hloc=GB|cadnam#t=l&map=50.92021,-1.57884|16|4&loc=GB:50.92021:-1.57884:14|cadnam|Cadnam,%20Southampton,%20Hampshi re,%20England,%20SO40%202
Watch cars coming off the motorway though, they don't have great visibility as you come hooning round the roundabout.
ETA: You could also try the M27/A36 roundabout, I used to play there sometimes too. You'll need to pick a time when the traffic is light though.

Watch for coppers at Cadnam, I remember Scoobs and Tee Jay both saying it sometimes has a police presence especially on Tuesday ( Poole Quay ) Nights.
M27 / A36 roundabout is a good call...
Also the Slip road onto the M27 at Junction 12 is quite good fun to.

They are within 30 miles of Cardiff !
Theres one section of dual carriageway I reckon you can get your knee down on, right hand bend.. but you'll probably have to do 80-90 mph to do that... Im building up the courage to try that one !
I know of a good left hander, joins onto the A465 from Glyn Neath... very tight, dual carriage left hand turn.. can usualy get my knee down there...

True - we usually do a sighting lap first, just to check. The last few times however the locals have got a bit ****ed off and have actually come out with video cameras - presumably for evidence purposes............

To film a public road......dont be rediculous lol
percy hobbs roundabout, top of a31, winchester end.
its only a small roundabout, but has a decent camber on it, one slightly uneven spot but do a couple of circuits and you'll know where to push it and where to back off

You found that one then! just think.. the first time I came accross that corner was on my SV in the dark... when I saw the corner tighten up that much, I was looking for somewhere to land ! been on it a few times with my ZX6R's.... gotta be carefull in going into that corner that you dont carry too much speed...

No one, who has managed to get their knee down would go back to being someone who hasn't got their knee down, if asked.

I've had the pegs scraping, but I'm either leaning right over, or hanging off the bike - not both! I'm keeping a look out for a quiet roundabout the buses don't lay diesel all over ;)

I know of a roundabout you can try, it can get busy.. its on the A465.. so it can get very busy ! but its a mahoosive roundabout, not entirely a circle... average knee down speed is 45 ish mph... Ive found some roundabouts where 30 mph is too fast....
its one of those things.. you try and try to get your knee down thinking you cant lean the bike over any further, once you do get your knee down, you realise just how much more lean you have to play with on top !

Try these roundabouts @ point a,b,c make sure there is no traffic about.

You should be getting KD way before scraping a peg or getting to the edge of your rear tyre for that matter. Sure you weren't scraping a toe slider?

I snapped my rear brake lever off, so def scraping the pegs ;) That was on the D220s which everyone gives such a bad rep.

Then its just the case of changing your riding position. I wouldn't go round scraping the pegs too much because most of your weight will be on that peg and it could lift the rear tyre or dig into something on the surface.

It was a bit of a brown trouser moment. That was last summer and I still haven't got a new brake pedal :(
Is it easier on a more sporty bike? I find the SV a bit skittish/wobblywhen hanging off going fast

can't really say since I never really pushed my SV hard around corners. I only started making more of an effort when I bought my current bike last year then caught the trackday bug soon after.
