It has been brought to my attention that members who have left comments on news threads regarding Marks accident have been contacted by the press and are asking for comments and such about Mark. I think regardless of what you are told by the press how the information you give is used, it would be more prudent and respectful not to make any comment at all.
Please please please do not give any statements. Just say out of respect for Mark and his family, you have nothing to say. If anyone should comment about Mark to the press, it should be his family.

Yes, Agreed. I wouldn't trust a journalist and further than you could throw them.

As it's an open police matter, and even those at the scene don't fully know what happened, it'd be quite inappropriate for anyone to go on the record to a journo.
Some of the public comments on the news articles in question have been incredibly distasteful.

Shocking infact. How would they feel if it were someone close to them. Extremly insensitive and in poor taste.

Falc and I saw some on the website absolutely disgusting some of the comments on there. as for journalists John's right wouldn't trust em as far i could throw em

This always happens on local new websites and even national ones. ****es me off, I swear there is people out there who go out of their way to be an **** on comment pages like that.

After my neighbour, her sister and bro in law were killed by scum (in a nicked car) driving the wrong way on the M55, some years ago. We found out about it 3 hours later by a journalist knocking on out door asking our opinion of our neighbour and reaction to her death. (Door was closed on them)
These type of ambulance chasers are truly the lowest, and don't deserve to be called journalists.

It's sad that all they want to do is make money from someone's demise.
Journalists - Bunch of vultures but without the sparkling personality.
As for 'Karen', her comments and her ilk :roll: some people really want re-educating...
... preferably with something heavy and with great heights involved as well. :twisted:

+1 - Having read through the comments on that site I was angry, upset and could not believe some peoples attitudes. All I can think is what Mark's family must be going through. Just think some people engage mouth before brain.
It would seem the journalists are still trying to get information. Someone has been contacted and asked for background information on Mark and what sort of person he was. They stated they had permission from his family to do this.
I could check by way of a phone call, but to be honest, his family have enough to deal with. I am also sceptical of the validity of the journalists statement. If anyone else receives a call from the papers, can I please again ask for no statement to be given. At least not until matters in hand have been dealt with.
Update.
Journalists were not given permission at all. Just goes to show.
