Well, I'm stuck in Vienna for yet another day! Freeloading...sorry "Couchsurfing"!

Nick has not yet got his replacement visas sorted...and may not get his russia one. That may mean that we part company sooner than later. Bit of a shame as I would prefer a partner there for Kaz/Mongolia...!

We'll see tomorrow if the Ruskies are willing to let Nick travel.....

Hopefully on Tuesday I'll be off on the road again. Vienna's nice but with local guides showing me around & my own exploring I've done Vienna!

Tomorrow I may tighten the chain a smidgen & see if I can find out what *that* noise is.

oh no, whats the noise?

Sometimes, i get a ticky ticky noise that gets louder. I realised the other day its just my chain being dry, since after I cleaned it and lubed it up, it went quiet

Hey Dirk, on your way out did you meet Nathan on a D675. He was on his way to Paris. He certainly met you!!

Quote from his post over on Triumph675.net:

' Also nearly got crushed by a top heavy swaying (most laden down I have ever seen) bike of a slightly mad Englishman about to head off for a 1 year motorcycling journey ("Have to do the run before bloody ewan mcgreggor!"). '

Could've been me - the spare tyre sits on the back seat & the tent & kit bag & petrol can kinda sit on top of that. I've adjusetd the pre-load so it doesn't rock as much.....

Got any location/dates? I was in Paris on the peripherique on about the 3rd April....

Dirk, this was before you even crossed the channel, England 1 April. Next bit:

'He's got an interesting setup on his bike: has doubled up everything ready to swap over if something breaks: e.g. cabling, wiring etc.
But god I wouldn't want to ride his bike: he's got everything and anything loading it down. Must way a tonne and handle like ****. :)'

Ahhh...twasn't me!

My spare clutch & throttle cables are in a pannier - if I'd had another week prep then I may have put them in place ready to switch over.....
