More specifically about a 20 mile radius of CAMBERLEY??

I have a couple of potential job opportunities available to me up in Camberley and Farnborough.

I live near Portsmouth at the mo and I don't want to commute all that way, so would re-locate (if I get the jobs I'll see if they will pay re-location 8)).

Anyhoo, I don't want to live in a town, what are some nice surrounding (more countrified) areas to live in?? I know it is a tall order these days, but I don't want chavs or yobs and I want to feel that my property is 'secure'.

I'd rather be a little south or south/west of Camberley than north.

Any recommendation's or at least places to avoid!!? :)

I live in Guildford- just in the outskirts and i love it here. Can walk into town, but still can walk along the river, and be in pure countryside in 5 mins!! Grew up in Ash-Ash Vale, and love it there as well. Quiet, with amenities nearby and lots of nice village pubs! Frimley - I'm not too sure about, but seems ok to me!! And there's some nice parts of farnboro too, although the town is ****e!
Are u wanting to be completely away from town?

Camberly is around 10 miles west from where I am. Anywhere along the A30 from the M25 to there is nice. Countryfied as much as it can be. Any further South than Woking and its built slow going. Heres a map - all the green areas have some nice little towns.

Yea, I wanna avoid towns and be in a village type area. I don't mind somewhere small as long as it is slightly off the beaten track ...

Grant, that link just shows London road to the north east of Camberley, if anything I wanna go t-other side ;)

I was thinking more the sort of Upton Grey type place (I love all of those villages round there ... used to go for a ride round that sort of area and day-dream! ... are there any places like that but north of the M3 (yet south east of Camberley).

If it's of any use Nick, I used to live in a village called Alfold Crossways - just down the road from Dunsfold (where Top Gear is filmed) - about 20 minutes from Guildford by car - can't give you a 'by bike' figure as i didn't own one at the time :-(

But, I have to say as someone who, given the choice, would choose village life over town life EVERY time - it's one of the best places I've lived. !!

And besides, you need vetting before you can live here, we can't have any old riff-raff.

Although I live near Portsmouth now, I can assure you I was not born/raised anywhere near here!! :D

I am actually a Cambridge boy, so I am not sure if Surrey is good enough for me!! :D

Thanks for the offer, but I have been to (and through) Guildford many times, but I don't fancy the rat-race across to Farnborough(way) every morning! :(

I don’t want to spend any more time than necessary on the roads - it makes a 8hr day soon turn into an 11hr day real easy ;) Also with fuel prices its just plain silly to relocate to somewhere where I still have a fair commute from!! ;)

I have friends that live in Fleet (which is nearer the sort of area where I intend to re-locate to), I might call on them and go for a buzz round at the same time :)

How do you manage to get your hands into normal gloves, have you had the webs cut? :D

I did mean go and see where you actually want to be rather than see Guildford, but as you say, you've got it sorted

Its alright but a bit to passer through for me - on the intersections with M3/A30/Bracknell - keep going to Sunningdale and Sunninghill if you want something a little bit quieter - bit pricey though. But I would say Chobham if you want villagey - quaint and quiet.

All good places suggessted, stay away from the old dean area, thats pretty bad :)

How about Sandhurst? just down the way from camberley, little sandhurst has cheapish places, farnborough as well in the other direction. blackwater, ligh****er near it too, Frimley is another one, all of these kind of circle camberley.

Let us know if you need any help.
