View Full Version : Shire Horse 15/04/08 Open house.
This will be the first regular meet after the unfortunate circumstances of late. (not sure if that's the best way to put things) We will be doing our best to remember the best bits of Mark. Laugh and take the pee a bit. I have already been told a few stories by Mum & Dad.
So who can make it :?:
It's and open invite. (this means as a special, we'll let the GM (and others) cross on to our turf).
Vote now.
(we need to know numbers as it gets busy, we may need to book tables).

I should bloody hope so ;) after all we are the closest section that match the TV high standards if I remember Mark saying :)

7ish, depending on First Great Western.

Hi TV lot,
I was planning on meeting you all this evening, but thought it wouldn't be the ideal time due to the unfortunate incident lately, and me only meeting Mark the once. I hope you all made the best of it, and look forward to seeing you again soon.

I went tonight and just wanted to say thanks to all... Good to put names to faces but I'll probably forget by the next meet.
I shall hope to be along to next weeks one.
You might find it a bit lonely.
We're back to fortnightly meets from now on, afaik - last week's interim was a one-off. Next one'll be the 29th.

It was nice to see the Bandit onwners club turn up again. For all of the 30 minutes. They really pushed the boat out yesterday.
I can't say as I remember seeing a single Bandit in the car park. Those guys are just hard core man.
And welcome into the group rpwoodman aka Rupert. Hope to see you there again in a couple of weeks. :thumleft:

Hey, I know I wore the T-shirt but I'm not a member anymore. I still get their crappy booklet things though. Was a great meet, apart from getting soaked. And I just want to point out (Mr Rictus) that I ride all year round. That is all. :p

Erm, no. Was dry where I was anyway. Unfortunatley i've had to take a second job doing some driving to put an end to being permanantly skint. Wouldn't have missed last night for such a trivial reason as posted above.

How's the wheelie machine? :)
I've been out on it a couple of times now- first time was last sunday- which sort of scared me a bit lol. Hence one of the reasons I didn't atternd monday.
Went out yesterday, took it easy, and now feeling a lot more comfortable and confident on it. I'm just taking it out for about 15/20 miles each day getting used to.
I'm planning on making the memorial ride this sat on it- providing weathers not chucking it down.

Lots of new members - and I wouldn't mind betting that we will get more as summer closes in. We are also slowely stealing GM members.
Think we ought to have some form of immigration laws in place to deal with this sudden influx. Hows this as a starter for 10:
All immigrants need to:
1 - Get lost on at least 1 TV ride out.
2 - Ride their bike to every meet irrelivent of weather etc (3 strikes and you're out).
3 - Buy every member of the original TV section at least 1 drink.
4 - Give a 1 minute speach on the virtues of sausages.
5 - Bow to the greatness that was ASM.
6 - Take the micky out of Sarah at least once;)!

Nah, more like:
1 - Insert a reference to Skittles into every story Jon tells
2 - Never turn up to a ride-out, ever. Or the pub, for that matter.
3 - Pass an eel and vomit-scat based endurance challenge
4 - Meet a quota of leftover food stolen off other attendees' plates.
5 - Show a healthy disdain for any form of marker or mirror system
6 - Purchase walkie-talkie intercoms but never EVER use them
7 - Pay appropriate tribute to the majesty of Hammerite
8 - Crash in such a manner as to cause a serious leg injury
Far more representative!
