That conversation was one of the funniest things I had heard in ages. We were all shattered and a bit down after Jas's off, but he just walzed in there and asked the chippy lady for a job. lol :mrgreen:

OK, I have to admit I haven't read the whole thread... I got about half way down the second page & decided to post (40 pages per post).
No begging/name calling (even in jest) from me. Folks are old enough to do what they want.
Quiff, assuming you do stay away from the .Org, I have you on MSN so I'll chat to you there. I will also drop you an email for every rideout I'm on, and as far as I'm concerned, you're welcome. However, I know you may have reservations about attending (for any reason), so that's completely understandable.
Shell, I don't have any contact details for you (kwak if you read this, please pass it on). I've only met you the once (at Stormy) and you seemed like a nice person. Shame that you have issues running so deep (that I know of only from your post in this thread). Please attend Border Patrol meets when suitable to you (we'll need some females there!!) and consider any rideouts when your arm is healed.

You are both nice people. Reading the posts I would say that there are certain members that didn't like what has been implicated. The two people that were caught up in the controversy have sorted out what wasn't a problem in the 1st place off topic, which is fine.
If you leave the forum then that means whoever was doing the interfering has won. These are words on a computer screen, & it is easy to run away, but it is stronger to stay & show whoever, that you really dont give a toss what they think so.........................

I like Dave, very funny, good bloke.
I met Shell once at a BP meeting, she was nice, chatted, good sort etc.
If 2 sensible and mature people want to quit that's up to them. I agree with keithd. Can't we move on? The forum is bigger than 2 individuals, and while I'll miss Dave I shan't go weeping over it.

Gee, someone makes a mistake and everyone goes silly, I'm sure they are sorry about it all, it happens. I'm sure you'll all be back, after all if you consider the people here and all the different views I'm surprised things don't get mixed up more often. See you all gain sometime in the future.

ive been a member of this site since oct 04 when there were just 2 moderators. There were arguments and stuff but people just dealt with it. I left the forum for 6 months due to personal stuff and since coming back ive noticed a real difference, what with the AR fiasco, people throwing toys out the cot, its a bit sad really. Probably why im not on here much. come on people grow up. if you want to leave then leave but all these people begging for you to stay is a lot of crap. We had bigger more important things to think about yesterday with Mark's funeral - that is important this petty stuff is not.

If you are going to leave then leave, If you are threatening to leave but really want to stay, just post up exactly that. Becuase saying you are gonna leave ( with no intention of actually leaving) then staying is all a bit attention seeking in MY OPINION:)
If you have a gripe, then post up, all this business of ''I am gonna leave'' really is pathetic. :)

To me, peeps come, peeps go. Makes no odds to me. The org has had a huge influx of these foreign newbie types( thats meant as a joke BTW) and they all have differing opinions. A lot of them are young, some of them are old, some of them new to biking, some of them like me been around them for centuries. Sometimes I think the younger end need a slap, sometimes i don't, sometimes I think the older end are a bit patronising( like me, cause I can be one hell of a condescending pirrock)
At the end of the day, some of us know each other personally, some of us don't..life is life, and this is a computer screen, pinch of salt to be taken at times.
Lots of big kids here at the mo, we're all adults..............Quiff and Shelly have sorted it out( they are mates in life) so stop whinging orgers whats done is done....lets move on
until the next time one of us Guffs up....ah well I'm not invisible anymore...hehe

At one of my old jobs so many people left, voluntarily or not, that the area where all the leaving speeches were made became known as the departure lounge.
Suggest we have a sticky thread called 'The Departure Lounge' so that people can post their valedictories. The more histrionic, the better:D
Brilliant idea Ed. Maybe we can also add a 'Where are they now' sub-section so that anyone sees them can put a Spotted post. Maybe even start a bring back Quiff fund.... :)

Further to my initial jokey post in this thread I have been in direct contact with Quiff,(we touch base on a regular basis.) It does appear that he has decided to bow out gracefully when the actions that prompted him could have created all manner of internet fisticuffs and ....if it were me.....physical one's also.
It appears that one of the members on here,(no doubt whom is going to stay and remain loyal to this wonderful community:rolleyes:) engaged in a line of communication,containing a rather sinister and threatening element to it...this quite rightly enraged Quiff.
My opinion of the individual that has done this sees me view them as nothing better than a mouth breathing,cave dweller.
For that persons interest...Further to your communication to Quiff.....WE ACTUALLY KNOW WHO YOU ARE....... And just why might Quiff have to watch his back? So maybe you think about that for a while...and then maybe some more?
Apologies to all decent minded people on this site who have to suffer reading my contentious post.

If there is a case of threats made etc, I think this should be reported to a moderator whom you trust to deal with.

Yes Quiff did report something to me ages ago. I shant say more open forum an all that.
I'm going to lock this now. Its not a slight on Quiff or Shelly, I wish them both well and if they decide to come back then they have an open invitation to do so at anytime.
However I dont see that mercillesly flogging the subject matter to death and going over old ground is going to help anybody.
If anybody feels strongly about this then can I politely request that they PM me about it.
