Have you checked the chain. I was having trouble going from 1st to neutral. I tried everthing, new oil, new clutch cable. It turned out to be the chain was to slack. It was always a very noisy change as well until i adjusted the chain correctly
lots of slack will make the chain flap when it goes into first, does not matter how much you adjust the clutch, there will still be a little drag on the drive train through the clutch when its pulled in, adjust chain and see how it is afterwards, also after ive had new front sprocket fitted after going away from the OEM one, it got more noisy, the OEM one has rubber on it to quieten the chain.
my kwak is soo noisy does not matter how much i adjust the chain

I had this.....my cause, the stealer dealer filled it with too much oil at the service. Also, I have found that if you clean the oily gunk from under the clutch cover quite often it makes it so much smoother.

Mine was doing this as well and the same as Drew , the dealer had put way too much oil in her on service , leave the bike for an hour or so after running or ideally overnight , stand her upright and take a peek at the level in the sight glass , where is it ?

if it's a pointy you have that's not how you check the oil, read the manual:cool:

Well I`ll be damned , manual for the pointy says to run the engine for a few minutes , turn it off , then wait 3 minutes , then tilt her vertical and check . I stand corrected and am now a wiser man , thankyou :)

I too, would say that the chain's too slack. I've just adjusted mine, and there's no more clunking, and it goes into gear like butter. I also just done an air and oil filter change.
Gear changes are even-more buttery.

+1 - although make sure sheets or cardboard or anything is underneath the gunk, it's stained my patio!
I had no idea there was so much crap in there. Also when you remove all the clutch bits, make sure you don't lose the ballbearings in the worm gear.
