Why is it that the start of every day has to be marred by something?!

Today I discovered that if you take the left lane all the way along the Hogs Back from Seale to Puttenham it feels a bit like this

http://media2.kezfun.net/pictures/28/b_14050-content.jpg

The right lane - flat as a pancake. Grr.

It wouldn't normally annoy me apart from the fact that I forgot to bungee net my laptop and sarnies on and could feel them slipping slowly forward. So my fault, yes, but the point remains.

Maybe I need to read more into suspension, shocks and new front ends? Maybe I'm just easily annoyed.

Thanks for caring.

PS - the sarnies are safe. Until 12.

I know the bumps you mean. If you time it right you can get cool little wheelies.

I take it back. My perfectly prepared cheddar and ham sandwiches on seeded batch have been infused by Muller strawberry fruit corner.

What a disaster.

Interesting taste. Can't recommend it though.

I hate that bit of road

Sounds like a milder version of what I think Skip referred to as "The Road of Bones".

Good road to reduce the wear on your seat (backside was in the air more than it was on the seat, bad road if your suspension needs looking at :P

Its like the surfacing lorry stopped every 5 minutes for a cuppa or something. Unfortunately everytime I ride to work I have to go that way :(

This has led me to start reading up on adjusting the forks and rear "properly". I've not touched it since I rode it out of the dealers last October and I'm beginning to think I might be suffering because of it.......

I have no idea what its set at, how to set it, or what it should be set at. Something to occupy me for a few hours anyway.

Suggestions welcome of course, though I know theres a lot of info on this in here already, and its a matter of preference more than rule. (I'm about 15 stone, so on average heavier/larger than your "standard issue" rider, I guess.)

Yer the hogs back is pretty awful and there is quite a difference in road quality between the inside and outside lane.

Just go faster and use the outside lane ;)

Yep, apart from Friday's when das Polliss are on-location.

(I loved german at school, you could just add a der, die or das and have an instant german word)

A good reason that I rarely come to the Ely - 4 diet cokes and that bleedin road makes for an interesting bladder squeeze with 20-odd miles still to go til home!

But global warming has turned what was once normal clean rain into acid rain. It really is burning the face off.

When I take the back roads to work and back there is a small stretch of road that is so bumpy it makes your teeth rattle. (literally). I swear it's getting worse on a daily basis.

I recommend a rugby-type gum guard.

Nothing has annoyed me too much today. Oh, apart from the train out of Reading, but there isn't space for that rant here.

Today I am annoyed at the way that in an empty restaurant a

"table for two"

is translated into

"oh, yes please, I'd like to sit shoulder to shoulder with your only other diners, please".

Don't look surprised when we ignore you and sit somewhere other than you are waving your menus....grr

Those bumps on the Hoggs Back. I was going from Farnham towards Guildford and rather than bumps they seemd to be ridges. Jarred my teeth. Sure it never used to be that bad. However probably saved me a few points as there was a speed trap and thee bumps took a few dozen MPH off me.
