My friend Jane has invited me to her wedding, which is really nice as Im the only person she has invited from uni to come. But that does meen I wont know anyone there, and Im not that good in sitiuations where I dont know anyone! But I think I will just have to man up and get on with it!
Anyway, my questions oh powerfull .org, how should I R.S.V.P to the invite? (Its all very posh and her fiancé is money) I have to reply by snail mail and I want to get it right!
Also what will I need to wear? Ive been invited to both the wedding and the reception the next day. The invite says dress informal for the reception, my mom said that meens just not a tux, but still very dressed up, is this right? or should I just wear my leathers (bike leathers ;))
The invite says that everyone is staying at the local Hilton Hotel :-s
Help!! (there is no excited by scared smiley!!)

Spell check the letter? ;)
I'd still suit-up for the reception; better to be overdressed than under. You'll get away without a tie if it makes you more comfortable.

Remember that you probably have a +1 invite - so you can take someone with you :)
Suit rather than tux, unless your name happens to be Bond, James Bond :P

it's customary to turn up to your first wedding, or any of your weddings really, not doing so is generally frowned upon...;)

If we're being pedantic it's a Dinner Jacket ;) A 'tux' is an ugly American phrase for a DJ as there was once only one place in the US worth wearing one; a club called 'The Tuxedo'. Who says the Amerryqueens are uncultured ey?! ;)

I`d wear a suit, then if you feel that you`re dressed too formally take off the tie and jacket. Ask your friend what other people are gonna be wearing.

Definately no Tux / DJ - that would have been called "Black tie".
As already said, ask what others will be wearing. Obviously the family's idea of formal may be a new Burberry baseball cap :D- but on the basis they are not Chavs......go conservative, a suit and shirt & tie that still looks good without the tie or jacket works well........and I have used work suits on a few occassions - just bought a new tie :)..........sh#t like this can be soooooooooo simple for fellas
Doesn't sound like you are giving a speech, but in case you are best man..........do not have 10 pints and then try and wing the speech.....she never spoke to me again :D

True my mate did at mine, problem was it was my new sister in law big sister (my wife) was not happy. Maybe the carpark outside the reception wasn't the best place.

Ok, nice suit is it.
I dont have to give a speech, more the pitty, I love being on stage!

I will ask her today, and then I will get her to come shopping with me for somthing, because as a male I have zero fashion sence. (and theres noway Im going to wear one of those silly skinny ties!!)
