What do you use the bike for?
Are you an all weather/year rider?
How many miles do you do?
mainly fun......... (100-200 miles rides)
i dont go out in the wet, but dont mind getting cought out in it, dont do ice/snowy weather
10,000 a year
might do 1-2 trackdays a year
a few 500+ mile weekends away

Afternoon all.
EBC HH work well, (I've sold thousands) & what's more they're usually cheaper the Carbon Lorraines.
Cheers.
thanks again spannerman
busters are doing them at the same price

They will eat your discs for breakfast mind ;) I like the normal ?green? pads in my road bike, they are kind to the discs too 8)
Never seen you ride, but chances are you will never NEED any more than some greens 8)
HH's ate my discs in about 20k. The Carbonne lorrianes however have identical stopping power (I cant tell the difference anyhow and i have done over 50k on my bike) and are much kinder to the discs.
Id go for the carbone lorraines (Std compound...SK3 or something iirc)
2 pairs of honda pads are the same as 1 pair of EBC or Carbonne lorrianes
are the honda ones going to be kind to my discs?
Hein Gericke pads used to be re-badged Carbone Lorraines. Not sure if they still are. I always used those and they were good.

Argh, i need pads and was gonna get EBC ones. Now its been told they eat discs...
...so should i get the carbone lorraine ones? I commute, but i do like stopping power and would rather have some pads which stop me and don last as long pads which last for ages and ages but dont stop me...
Although, for the rear, I'll stick in something that does last for ages and ages

Considered Goldfren? Fantastic pads!

An old peice of toast would probably do the job, especially for the amount of time I ever apply the rear brake.

I use the EBC 'organic/green' pads and they are fine for commuting. Bought some 'Armstrong' green pads off ebay now. Got the rear ones in and they seem fine, will put the front in when needed :)
Pads are cheap compared to discs ;)
Front and rear AND a tin of spray for ?27.50 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRAKE-PADS-FA229-231-63-GSF-GSX-SV-FREE-CLEANER_W0QQitemZ110242094770QQihZ001QQcategoryZ10 534QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) delivered ... that has to be a bargain!?!? ;)

EBC HH's is what i'd go for, and keep going with. Yes they ate through standard SV discs (I know you have a Honda) but they have shown no excessive where on the Braking Wavy GSXR disc's on the 750.

I used EBC HH in the SV calipers as well- in fact, I've got one side still in their packet in the garage if anyone wants them ;) My favourite pads are the Carbon Lorraine A3+ pads- they're very mild/gentle but combined with strong brakes they work brilliantly. I never used them in SV calipers, I think maybe they only worked so well in conjunction with what was stupidly powerful brakes to be fair. But they were ACE.

Morning all.
At the risk of starting the 'great brake pad debate' again, (& repeating myself)
High friction pads i.e. EBC HH do NOT eat your discs unless you use the extra braking power they give you ALL of the time. As any other brake pad with a high content of sintered metal will do.
In other words ride keeping the extra power available as a reserve should you need it.
There are a lot of good pads available these days. Carbon A3's & EBC green etc are excellent at lower speeds.
One thing worth mentioning is, I have found that customers tend to take more care when braking after having had their discs replaced, so often the second set will outlive the originals. I suspect this is due to having had their wallets bashed for a considerable amount. Which often muddies the water when doing a pad versus disc life comparison.
Cheers.

Done about 8k on the EBC HHs and really like them, discs have now done 24 k miles in total and no appreciable wear, but I'm not heavy on the front brakes on the road, that's what the rev limiter's for ;)
