- Addison Lee driver Pulled out in front of me with my girlfriend on the back.
Thankfully we both had all the kit on.
I took the brunt of the crash as my girlfriend was holding onto me and not the grab bar on the bike. She landed on the roof of the MPV. I bounced of the MPv and landed in the middle of the junction about 5 Metres back.
Much pain - damaged all ligaments in left knee. Bruised bones all through left left, pelvis and angle.
Am very lucky, but will be unable to use left leg for a few months - been a month already.
Keep safe guys and don't assume people have seen you even if there is no one in front of you and they are still waiting - this guy pulled out and then panicked and stopped dead in the middle of the junction - if he had kept going i would have got passed.
All this at only 25Mph ~
As you can see from the petrol tank - my Crown jewels took a beating too!!

WEll they pretty black and blue mate - it happened on the 22nd of March and they are bruised anymore - one of the fastest healing areas.
One of my mates was telling me his friend had a similar accident and he had to have surgery to pull his b***ocks back out as they got pushed inside his pelvis - so could have been worse lol!

Nasty one! Glad you are both relatively ok. Did the driver stop and admit liability? Any witnesses for later when he decides it was your fault instead?
Flippin' ek. Hope you're both healing well.
The bit about your mates gonads being swallowed made me wince a little :-S

Ouch, glad to hear you weren't to badly injured. When I had my mega crash my family jewels where huge, and black for 7 weeks before slowly going purple then yellow. Thankfully all back to normal now!
Ouch! I winced in sympathy and I don't even have dangly bits!

Yoinks,
Guess that might be the disadvantage of having a pillion. A lot of extra weight pushing your delicate bits into a previously unyielding tank. :smt088
Crumple zones for petrol tanks anyone?
Good news you are both relatively unscathed.

Damn! I feel your pain dude, had crushed jewels a few times.........just hope everything fires on all cylinders. ;) Looks like you've created a new SV. We had the curvy, THEN we had the pointy.......now we give you the twisty! :)
Hope you're not in too much pain and that the g/f is fine. Should be an open and shut case for insurers. Good luck mate.

The one in the background has seen better days too! Whats with the crate under the wheel?
george650
18-04-08, 10:17 AM
The crate is there so they can slide the bike along. The impact sent a ripple through the bike so the back wheel can't be turned either.
:lol:Good to see your crash bungs worked on the one side!
Hope your both recovering, tank looks nasty, I've got a plastic one, wonder what would happen with that!

Can anyone advise me on what value i should be getting from insurance.
Bike was registered in Oct06, 5500miles, perfect condition, aftermarket can, tinted screen, crash bungs, euclase silver.
they have offered me ?3350
Seems ok to me ~ should i go for 3500??
it's a good price!! I would look on the net for similar bikes to urs and see what they go for
end of the day there is no harm in bargaining a bit - they might give u ?3.5k

aftermarket can, tinted screen, crash bungs,
The above will be excluded from any quote at any time, whether from insurance or part-ex at a dealers (if it were straight).
?3500 is a good price.

I seem to be pretty good at suggesting sportswear for motorbikers, my first being cycling shorts (with a pad under you ****) for touring!
What about a cricket box to keeps your crown jewels nice and safe!?

I have found a few adverts but it isn't easy to find any. prices seem to be going down daily since you can get a new sv650s for only 3800 now.
Think 3350 is good enough to stick with - plus i am sure i will eventually get a pay out on personal injury etc.
Don't think i can get any parts off the bike as the insurance have already collected it.
Think i am going to go for an SV1000S next - they seem to be a complete bargain at the mo.
