there is a special clip but I can't get it undone, how does it work?

Push the hose to get a little slack in the coupling, and then pinch the back of the coupling where there are the two "tangs" and it should then pull apart.

have a little bit of rag just to catch the few drips that will come out.

All sorted. a little fiddly though!
Thanks everyone.

Bike slowly coming apart.
So far front fairing, radiator drained and removed and tank removed.
hopefullt tomorrow i will get to check the valve clearances.
Hoping they are within tolerance as all this work will be for nothing (not confident enough to mess with cams).
The only reaon i thought i would do the check is that I heard the majority of bikes need no adjustment at 15k....

thanks again.

It's always worth checking, as if you need to change them it's the same amount of work for a garage, if they don't need it then you've saved youself a fortune!
