http://www.5hort5.co.uk/sv2.JPG
The Bike:
Silver K3 pointy on an 04 plate
Miles: 10,900
MOT: either 10 or 11 months (I'll find the docs over the weekend)
TAX: 10/08
Never failed to start, ever
Used in all weather and great fun had with it
New job forces a very reluctant sale but it's just going to sit in the garage and not get used and that would be a desperate shame
Extras on the bike:
Front mudguard extender
Mirror extenders
Rear hugger
stainless engine bolts
Lower fairings
Crash Bungs
Tail tidy
Rear Seat Cowl
clear indicator covers (and orange bulbs)
Exhaust hanger (nice one)
Beowulf stubby oval exhaust (road leagal) and sounds great baffle in or out
Braided hoses - The good ones
v new Mitchellin road pilot 2's only done about 250 miles i think
Uprated front fork springs (feels a lot better with these)
Phillips bright headlight bulbs
And that's not all, you also get:
The original rear seat
The original rear foot pegs
The original exhaust (if you want it)
And even that's not all:
A Haines manual for it
A magnetic tank bag
A rear paddock stand (in purple no less)
Bad bits:
A scratch on the front above the light about 3 inches long (Muppet with screw driver)
Engine paint has come off a couple inches square on one side (caused by a coolant pipe leak - before I had it)
Some surface rust on the chain (not a problem but worth noting)
A small dot of missing paint on a corner of the rear seat cowl
Hugger's a bit poor and i was going to replace that next
No offers on this bike, it needs a good home and if I don't think you are a good home - you ain't getting it. No spliting of the parts the money is for the lot (plus any other things I can find for it). Putting it on here first for you all to have a go at - it goes on Bike Trader on Monday for a couple hundred more.
Price is: 2200 UK Pounds
(Note: Pics are a bit old so after she has had a clean over the weekend I'll post some more but the pics are only a couple of months out at most)

I may have a buyer for you, she is iabroad at themoment and is back on monday. I will let you know:)
Sounds good although they need to fit the bike, I work for Auto Trader so know that 2400 on there and it'll sell in a day and I do not joke when I say she needs a good home. The price is good so that people can afford a nice bike but I need to like them :-) for me to let her go for 2200 with all the toys installed, even on Bike T, if I don't like em they can do one - it's not for the money I am selling her for it's just cause I wont use her any more than once a month and that's just for a a run out.

Do you actually want to sell the bike or to make friends with people:confused: How about I ride up to you, but leaving the money in the Bank, I'll just bring my smile an humour and niceness with me? Do we have a deal?

Just as an aside, your guardian angel has a nice ****. Also, do you think that maybe your attitude is stopping people from buying the bike?

Glad you got home safe mate, cheers for bringing it over, lovely bike and a decent fella.
Will be in touch next week.
No probs m8 - hope you enjoy the bike as much as I did.

lol - only just saw this post - erm, no I don't think my attitude does.
tbh my bike is mine and I was selling her because I wasn't going to use it anymore. I wanted a person that was going to use it, not just on the weekends but for work, for track days, for fun and ride outs. Bikes should be used not just parked in a garage and never ridden, for example: Only ridden in the dry! Only riden in the dry - are you a complete f'in moron! - bikes are tools to be used day in day out.
As for my attitude - at the price I was selling her at, well no - I can pick the person to buy it - it only took me a day to sell to a top bloke who will use her day in and day out and keep good care of her. A great bike at a good price.
I spent almost a grand in the last 18 months on extras and upgrades but still put it on the market at a very fair price with spares as well.
So can I be choosy about the person - course I can - If I had her on here for say 3k then no I couldn't but this isn't just a bike it's a great bike I was even happy to run it over to the buyer 30 miles away to have a look see.
So back to the attitude question - well I want my bike to go to someone who really wants her and will use it for the right reasons. So if my attitude stinks - go buy a bike for the list price. :smt021:D:D:D

Didn't you only ride the bike once in a blue moon?
The vast majority of people that buy SV's ride them everyday, and also most people are new riders so are out as often as possible. My advise is that if you are going to sell a bike, and use a forum as a place to sell, keep the thoughts to yourself on what kind of customer you would prefer to sell to, and if you do not like the look of somebody than you do not have to sell it to them... and only you know why!
Your bike looked really sweet, and I would have taken a ride up with my friend, (to likely buy it) who would love that bike and most certainly ride it everyday, and to think she could of lost out because you may not thought her suitable is pretty lame really.
What If I had, and not known of your selling criteria, wasted a day and petrol riding all the way up there from london, for you to only decline me?
ANyway, congrats on selling the bike:)
PS
You can still keep the same ''attitude'' and sell the bike for list price so why didn't you, as I am sure at list price you would not have had a bunch of chavs turn up and want to buy it?

This thread is a total joke! The OP surely can't be serious about loving his bike so much that he wouldn't sell it (her - spews) to someone he didn't like??
We all like our bikes but it's not a puppy, for Christ's sake! It doesn't have feelings or even consciousness.
If you let it go for less than what you could have so that you could sell to someone you liked the look of, you're an even bigger fool than you sound.
I could understand it if you were making some moral decision not to sell to someone who might hurt themselves on it; or not selling to someone who looked like they might try and rip you off... but it's neither of those things.
What a stupid attitude.
yep you are so right, why should I sell my bike under a good price, why should I sell it to someone i wanted to, why oh why oh why. Ahh well these and many other questions will never go answered apart from there's a happy buyer and a happy seller, both have what they want.
As for a stupid attitude leather-strap well - you just need to relax a bit lol :smt077

Christ, the guy offers the bike for sale at a great price, giving people on the forum the chance to make an offer before it goes on general sale - and you jump down his throat just because he doesn't want to sell it to any tom, **** or harry?
Like he says, it's his bike, if he's not urgent for a sale, then what's the problem? I didn't have to undergo an interrogation, he just want's to see it go to someone who will appreciate it which is fair enough IMO.
Leatherpatches, it's not exactly unheard of for people to be sentimental about vehicles - it's left me with a good feeling as the buyer because I've picked up a great bargain that's had a lot of care and attention, and hopefully 5hort5 is satisfied because he knows it's going to mean a lot to me as my first bike.
To call someone a fool just because they have higher priorities than money is pretty rude and close-minded, and doesn't really give a good impression of what I thought was supposed to be a friendly community between sv owners.

Well, as you're the one who is directly benefiting from his daft sentimentality about a machine, you could be expected to say that.
This one has given my mates a hoot, I can tell you that.
