Can anyone help, will the 400 usd front end work on a K6 650, I know anything can be made to fit anything just wondered if anyone has fitted the 400 front end and how much work is needed, cheers Jeff

have you got the front end in your hands? if not then thers other front ends you could also use that wouldnt be all that dear like the older gsxr750 fronts or the rgv250 front ends etc...
im not sure on fitment on any of them tho i used a k5 750 front on my k4 sv and it went straight on no problems at all but the newer front ends cost way more than what you could pick the older gsxr 750 ones up for and the 400 and the 250.

Scrub the idea of the GSXR400 forks, they are not any good for an SV.

Thanks for replies,
I have not bought them yet, they are on flea bay, any particular reason why they are no good for an sv (Dangerous Dave) I once went to look at some for my curvy sv and they looked about right ?

why not just put the older model 750 ones on?ther abit cheaper that the newer model gsxr front ends and alot of people use them aswell.

I would say use more recent ones as well... Those are ooooold school forks and weren't brilliant in their day. Chances are they'll need serviced. With the more recent forks being so simple to fit, and working very well, you'd need a very good reason to look elsewhere tbh.

Sorry for the delay 'lexingtonone', Northwind above is correct. You will be spending a fortune on the 400 forks to get them passed SV standard, the more modern forks will work straight away with only minor tweaks to the adjusters for almost all people. They are a straight swap too!
Check out 1RichSV650's thread (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=103758) on putting USD forks on his K6.

Thanks for all the advice, I decided not to bother with the 400 usd,s even though they sold for £50 ! went out for a quick (fairly) blast yesterday and found the standard forks and brakes to be pretty good to be honest, I dont want to add any weight to bike as I like to go the other way, I only wiegh 11 stone and with my weight and a few kilos trimmed off of the bike I think the only thing I would need the fancy usd,s for is the looks and I think my sv (red K6 with fairing lowers, hugger, tail tidy, dinky winkers, black double bubble screen, micron can, goodridge hoses, power commander, K & N filter with modded air box, irdium plugs, seat cowl) satisfies on the looks front and only needs a few more horsepower to satisfy as a pretty sharp and fast road tool, if I need anything more I will go back to club racing (LC,s and TZ,s).
P.S. brakes and handling seem better than my old curvy SV, I thought the brakes were the same !
p.p.s. 700 wiseco pistons next.

There is no difference, other than on has flat discs!
p.p.s. 700 wiseco pistons next.
Ya on about the high compression pistons which give the same results as having an engine bored to 700cc?

The pistons I used for my curvy sv were bigger bore (forgot diameter but took it to 700cc) and higher than standard compression, very noticeable difference that time and I intend going the same way with my pointy sv.

Ah... right, didn't know you had a Curvy beforehand! It isn't a huge performance gain and can be had for cheaper on the Curvys. I haven't seen or heard of a bored out Pointy yet....

Well I had a good contact for my 700 kit for curvy so will give him a call to see what he can do for me in way of pointy pistons (are they different ?), he was cheaper than anywhere for the wiseco pistons head gaskets and did a top job of boring cylinders for me.

Not that I know of, got the 750 ones fitted in my old bird.

I noticed spec of your curvy, you must have got the sv bug like I did with my curvy, I spent two grand on engine alone, yours must be a real giant killer of a bike, my pointy is only a month old to me so no doubt it will bankrupt me (again) over the coming months, I nearly bought a duke but it just would not be the same.

I am highly infected, and contagoius apparently.

Yes, very much so and catches a lot of the straighline IL4 riders out!

Exactly!!!
