With regards to the first one: if I wanted a GSX-R then I'd buy a GSX-R, not an SV.
First one really reminds me of a updated TL, second is fugly!
Here's another one for you pointy lovers...

If you hated the Kwak then you sure won't like this one girt
I think they're gorgeous! Love the retro charm.
Here's an idea Girt, why don't you post your dream bike here in this thread?

Now this is a nice curvy...

First one is pretty much all GSX-R K5/K6!
Apart from that...if it was made like that (i.e. with all new sporty bodywork like that)...what looks like top quality suspension, etc...would you buy it? would you buy it if it cost £6k?
This always comes up but by doing a lot of the things people want, the price is jacked up, and it puts the SV into a whole other price bracket with a bunch of different competitors.
Have you seen a more radically modded SV than this?
http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e311/mgrau/P1020046.jpg
This bike has the fuel tank under the seat, and the owner made the carbon fibre dummy tank himself. It looks good too IMO.
Zunkus....................do you have something against pillions?:D
No way Lissa, my most remembered rides were done with the wife riding pillion. Don't have anything against a second bike though, erm or a third one at that :)
Oh my god, here's another one...
SV650SM I guess...

Like the Monster curvey SV.
Also, where do you keep finding all these?

We're bikers, we don't make much sense all the time. Lets just be kids again muffles and dream, we didn't think money when kids did we, we just saw something we liked and said oohh I want that. No harm in that right, lets just not be so adult and serious once in a while. Lets play.

I do like that kwak in the first post.
Apart from the swingarm on the first one, there's nothing there that wouldn't be easy to do btw- so if that's your dream SV, go for it! I hate it, but whatever floats your boat ;) GSXR-skinned SVs are not exactly rare.

I want:
Naked bike
V Twin engine
Supersports suspension and brakes
Upright seating
Bars, not clipons
Performance of a SS600 (160mph)
Weight of a SS600 (less than 170kg dry)
Comfy seat (of aorund 800mm)
Twin pipes
I guess one could say a Tuono fits this bill but I want something else. :(

They were all pretty cool. The Kawasaki was nice but reminded me of a dog arching its back before doing its business. I liked it though. I especially liked the vintage Honda!

Shiver? And budget a bit to make it work properly? Tuono's close apart from the weight. Monster? Again, weight. Streetfighter TRX?

Shiver?!?!?
Not even close on mos of my requirements. Tuono but too heavy and too tall. Maybe we need a new Firestorm.

I dunno- I think my dream SV would be a curvy with decent quality bits on it (ie paintwork, reliable reg/rec and springs)
Maybe a single sided swingarm (they do look GAWjuss!).
And maybe 800cc pushing 85-90bhp.
But basically a Curvy. Maybe with lowers too.
So basically a VFR800!

It's a naked, twin, decent quality suspension (though not supersports, it's not a kick in the teeth off and would upgrade easily enough), upright, bars, twin pipes... Yes it's heavier and it won't do your 160mph, but do you really fancy 160mph on a naked? The Tuono doesn't claim 160... The Firestorm's heavier, not much faster (the Shiver is quite low geared, with a sprocket change it'd be realistically about as fast) not a naked and the suspension is worse...

Me is liking the guzzies, ive said before id like an sv750/800 with some decent suspenders nice and light pushing 90bhp with plenty of torque. Im sure it wouldnt be hard for suzuki to do this the chassis would take the extra umph i would imagine. ?5000 sounds like a good price for it.

Bear in mind the sport goes for £4699 I believe and you're talking closer to £6k I would think- still a redesigned curvy with a higher tail, better front and rear suspension and pushing out 90hp would be great!

Agreed modern belt drive is very very efficient and quiet, id have a belt drive anyday, plus it if snaps its got much less chance of locking your back wheel up or taking your leg off.

Yes, but so fugly!
No, not for me.

My dream SV is my bike, with a fuel injected motor just because of the idling issue when the engine is cold, in winter.
And possibly some more adjustment on the suspension to make the bike a little more capable of cornering when im two-up with full luggage
Other than that, i love my SV the way it is :D

I was riding behind a Buell that lost it`s belt drive , wasn`t a pretty sight and my mate just about kept it upright with his mrs on the back . I`ll take my chances with a good old metal chain anyday of the week . I know there is now going to be a debate about the merits and minuses of both but put it this way ........ if you see somebody get eaten by a shark , you can`t convince them that sharks are really ok and groovy kind of dudes just going about their business .
Long story short , the replacement/fitting costs on the Buell were so high that my mate didn`t bother and sold it as it was and bought a GSXR .

Nice example :) But really it makes more sense to say "If you see someone eaten by a shark, will you ever go near water again"- maybe you won't but that doesn't mean there's a shark in there  Modern belts are very strong, it's a less mature technology on bikes than chains are but it's come on leaps and bounds even since the early buells. and chains do it too if neglected. You need to drop the swingarm to fit them which does make it more expensive than a chain to fit, but it shouldn't be so massive. Ah, but maybe Buells have their oil in the swingarm or the engine in the back wheel or something to complicate it :D I don't know what the lifespan is though, I read somewhere that the Ullyses one is now supposed to be lifetime but then Ullyseses probably do an average of 2000 miles a year :smt045

Yeah belts have a big life span, which more than offsets the extra labour involved when getting it replaced. like i said there is bound to be more damage when a chain lets go than a belt. Ive seen some prity bad **** when a chain goes bad. Ive got nothing against chains they do there job very well when looked after but i think belts are the future  you heard it here first lol.
