Recently I have started doing some DIY on the bike and things have being going fine (with a large amount of ORG support). I have fitted a new can, headlights, indicator and a lot of stuff which I never would've dreamed of being able to do.

On Saturday I even did an oil and filter change. So my bike is IMO being treated well.

Anyway since saturday, the things have gone wrong with it.

1 .Needed a new rear tyre
2. When changing the tyre the bloke pointed out the rear pads were right down and needed doing.
3. He also pointed out tha the disk was grooved (last owner) and would need changing.
4. The chain is also on it's last legs, so I'm guessing I'll need a chain and sprockets kit.
5. Add to that the fact that the speedo is working, then not, then working again.

......and I'm starting to think my bike hates me.

So how much is all that going to cost? I'm not going to be able to do all that lot myself, am I?

if you where 2 but the parts your self of say ebay is would come 2 around £130-£150 for the parts.

but can or would you do it your self?if you did it you would save a few quid!

aye.but if you could have done it your self you may have safed your self £50-60 quid or so.

but your better makeing sure everything is done ryt so you would be best paying the extra dosh and have it all done and keep the hands clean LOL

Oil Change - So filter, washer, and oil. £20 (rough guess, filter and washer cost me 10.50ish)
Still awaiting an O-ring from Honda for my leak! (£3.85)
Another rear tyre - Think I have 2 coming (£50 + delivery)
Another front - have one in the garage. (got free, but for that and rear to be fitted, roughly £40)
New pads all round probably. (Your guess is as good as mine, will try that lot meself)
Rear Shock. (possibly £40 if i'm lucky)
Swingarm (if i want to be picky cos it looks shabby, unsure on price).
Possibly some discs, not sure on that one though.
Chain and Sprockets will need doing soon. (£100)

The stuff I have got prices next to adds to £253.85. Will most likely screw up doing pads and have to get a dealer/garage to do it! Tyres I won't do. Will have a look at doing shock meself.

Not a cheap business this I tell you!

Oh yeah and i pointlessly spent over £10 on a gasket I don't need!

I don't mind getting a bit of grease under my fingernails, but just have a lack of know how.
