More people die on the squash court than in any other sport. FACT!
Given that it's played almost exclusively by up their own botties city types with pinstripe suits I think that reason alone is enough that we should encourage squash as much as possible :D

Oi!
I play badminton every week thank you very much, and I'm very much the opposite of fat.
Main reason; this is England - it rains a lot, and it can be played indoors.
It requires upper body arm strength for power on the shots, good technique for placing your shots, and lots of running around from the front to back, and side to side when your in a decent match.
I challenge anyone to give me a game and say afterwards that they didn't do much running around ;)

( I hear 'Iron' is a very nice man; 6'8" and 18 stone with buttocks that make jordans boobs look under-developed ;))

What a load of ****e. Badminton is far far harder work that tennis, you are constantly on your toes moving around and rallies generally last a lot longer than tennis. There is less recovery time between shots and less recovery time between rallies.
Squash and badminton are both much better excersise than tennis.
The only way badminton is no effort and boring is if you can't play it. Which is no different to tennis, if you are crap you get no rallies and no excersise.
Fact :-D
...
I assume you play badminton, and therefore, by assumed generalisaion, are an up your own whatsit pin stripe wearing city type?

Meh.
I can play badminton with some level of success. That fact alone means that it is not a sport worth much. I suck at sports see.:( I can lift heavy things quite well though.

I seem to be the complete opposite off all these stereotypes... I live out in the sticks with sheep and fields out the back :)

I've never played squash but played plenty of badminton and tennis and would say that tennis is the better for exercise and muscle use. You get the oppurtunity to use practically every muscle in your body and the ball requires more force to get it to go anywhere.
However, I like both sports (and yes badminton is a sport ;)), but I'd say tennis is by far the more powerful of the two, I feel like I've properly exercised after a game, especially after the one that went on for 4 and a half hours the other day!

Ditto. I get really fed up with the number of people who assume tennis is a toff sport and try and charge you the earth just to use a court for a couple of hours. Football can be played free on a pitch with goalposts why shouldn't tennis be the same???? Thankfully we've found courts nearby that are free so am happy to leave the hoity-toity peeps to their own

You've never seen my brother play badminton then... 10 stone, 6 foot, and runs about like an unguided missile. He keeps injuring himself sliding along the floor or running into people. He's RUBBISH mind.

I'm one of those nutters, but I think mental strain is the worst. Those 'Ironman' competitors are bonkers IMO.
