I had the pleasure of seeing him host IMIHAC last month, and hearing him play at the end. :( One of Britain's national treasures AFAIK.

I really liked "I'm sorry I haven't a clue" and it won't be the same without him. Wonderful man and superb player.

Just read his obitury on the Guardian website, and noticed it was by George Melly. I guess he must have written it a little while back

They must be getting ready for a great party upstairs

Well as the vanquished charwoman of time begins to shake-n-vac the shagpile of eternity, I've noticed that we've just run out of time...

Repetition.

I remember listening to the show with my dad when I was a kid. Very funny man, a great loss.

In his obituary he had apparently turned down a knighthood

Now that's what I call hesitation!

But hesitation before repetition on the same page is allowed under house rules ;)

The lovely Samantha will be left with a large hole in her life.
It will be hard to replace a man like Humph.

One of the gems of life, can't replace them, just have to wait for the next gem.

This is a real shame. I love Life in a Glass House by Radiohead.

There's a tribute on Iplayer. 1 hour about this truly deserving man.

The clips from ISIHAC are from the Cardiff performance I was at. He was tremendous.
