Got my SV booked in next week to have the suspension set-up properly by Kais Performance in Atherton.

Anyone used them or had their sv suspension set-up professionally and did you notice a difference.

Only going to cost £40 ride in/ ride out.:p

I've heard of them and bumped into a guy a couple of years back who had his bike set up there, prior to a trackday, and was very pleased. I just don't hink it is worth it for a standard SV as there is so little to adjust!

Yeah, 40 quid to sort your preload is a little steep. I'd suggest looking up how to do it, get 2 mates to help, take 15 minutes to get it right and then spend the £40 on some buns...

In fact, I'm pretty sure if you do a search on preload or sag you will find something on the forum about it. Look for stuff by Sid Squid or Rictus, or others you trust, and you should be onto a winner.

Its a THOU which has rebound, preload and compression adjustment front and back. ;)

I bought my fork springs from them, a bit tricky to find is all I remember.

Look, you are only in Bolton. Give Elmerfud (suspension consultant to the massive) a call. He is in Preston and does suspension for a living

Yeah, they are good! I sent my SRAD forks to them for a complete refurbishment prior to fitting them to the 750, excellent service and job!

NO.....................

I wouldn't trust them, had a mate bring his CBR around as it wasn't handling right and he had completely different settings on each fork. Think thats bad, you should have seen the springs; different lengths, and one was progressive! Got the fork oil right though!

He got a full refund, no apology, and made a complaint to there suppliers!

Well had the bike done this morning and what a difference!

Was told the rear end was way out and now feels sooooooooo much smoother.

And i even got a brew!

Highly recommend the guys at Kais Performance!

Good stuff .....tweeking bouncy bits is where the fun is

Problem is(well, not really a problem lol), as you ride faster or the changing weather, you may start to feel like, it perhaps needs a tweek or two.......that's where it pays to try and understand as much as you can about adjusting the knobs :).

Did they define what 'way out' was? What did they do?

I think one thing that a lot of riders don't check when they buy a bike is that the adjusters are set to stock and some melon hasn't played with them.

A mate of mine bought an SRAD, and the adjusters were half a turn out each, as in the left had half a turn more than the right, vice versa on the compression, 2 rings of preload different each side. The rear was just randomly twiddled probably lol.

I don't know how these suspension shops can do anything without going out with you, letting you ride it and generally twiddling. Surely they'd need a test rider with the same weight and riding style...

They're in Atherton. If you do go give me a shout.

The rear end was too soft with too much rebound damping on, so it was eating through the travel and almost staying there.

Why you want to meet me?

Well cool. You got a link for a site or a phone number or something so i could contact them? I think my front suspension is a little too stiff or hard or something. id also like to get a different rear shock, one that I can raise the rear ride height a little as i think the back is too low.

Just out of curiosity, how different to the stock settings are yours?

I just had a play with mine. I reduced the pre-load on the back and front (as I thought it was a bit too solid) and MAN the differece. It seemed to want to run a little wide when I got on the gas Early, especially if the corner was bumpy but now it holds a TIGHT line. And my corner speed has Jumped. YAY! Just need to do some more riding to make sure its all fine.
