My windshield is cracked from a stone chip last week.
Took it to Autoglass and from the VRM they could asertain my insurance details, like who I was with etc. They then said that I could have it repaired for £50 ( the excess on my policy ) and they would do all the paperwork.
Do I need to declare that I claimed for it when shopping around for a renewal or is it something seperate?
Anyone else come across this?

No need to declare it. The details will be in your ploicy docs somewhere, but essentially you only have to pay the glass excess (if indeed anything if it's only repaired not replaced) and it won't affect your no claims. Not seen the autoglass ads on the box recently? ;)

it is called windscreen cover that all car insurance has and it will not affect your no claims and no you don't have to declare it come renew time.
Might be worth calling your insurance co as they might have a prefered place to get your screen replaced and won't be happy if you go off to auto glass when they use RAC.
Doesn't affect your no claims - I should know, I am on my 5th windscreen in 7 years....:(
its a claim on the insurance policy, and some companys like you to declair it
ask them how much with out doing insurance, mine was only another 50 pounds, hence no need to claim, i have enough claims as it is
