Right you lot....Im playing Dad here.

Will you lot in posts stop popping at other people?

EVERYBODY...YES I MEAN EVERYBODY has and values and opinions. So please orgers value other peoples opionions concerns, veiws and religions and stop sniding at other peoples posts. It is really starting to annoy me now.

I thought we were all supposed to be friends on here....All like midned bikers talking about the things we like and the things we do.

You are making some people feel under valued like they should not have an opion and that is just plain WRONG!

This arguing and direct blame culture stops NOW before we loose any more people from this site.

So from this day forward.................No ARGUING PLEASE (u know who u all r, i dont need to name names)

And I'll just ignore you, like I did my Dad.

This is a pointless thread really, people are free to say what they want about whatever they want, and when things get out of hand the mods step in.

But up until that point, its a free site.

Yes, people get banned, people leave - but thats their own choice - yes even those banned get usually get a warning to change their behaviour.

Do people really get banned? I dont think I have seen anyone get banned in the past year or so that I have been on here.

Although there has been no real trolls that I can remember anyway, just good banter.

there is a level of egg shell treading and there is a level of plain nastiness...to which sometimes i have seen on here.

Dont get me wrong im all for banter, but not nasty snidi comments that upset people. Some characters and personalities are stronger than others.

Ok serious reply. People do need to be mindful of other people's feelings. A bit. Not a whole lot, but a bit. This is the internet, someone somewhere will be offended by absolutely anything you care to mention. Similarly, someone somewhere will always manage to deeply offend you/me.

But I kinda love Idle Banter for the arguments, it's half the reason I come. So long as it's never intended to be a personal attack or equally importantly taken as a personal attack, arguing is great. There's a whole bunch of Gun Toting Right Wing Fruit Loops out there who need re-educating into the way of the Care Bear Hug'n'Share Liberal Left Wing Weener. And I'll get you all, one by one if I have to :D

We do have a great bunch of mods here (suck up? moi?) who do step in from time to time when it does get personal and out of hand, but this forum is something of an oasis of reasonable rational, heated sure, but non-personal argument in the internet which is otherwise flooded by threads that devolve into purile abuse within the first page.

While I agree with some of the comments here I sure hope I've never seriously offended anyone in the past. Sometimes it's all too easy to misunderstand the intent of a post. That's the thing about online forums, people will always end up getting offended somewhere along the line. That said I do try to keep things civil, no one should take anything I post all that seriously anyway.

Peace.

There was a case recently where someone posted information on his Blog. This was then taken (supposedly) the wrong way, and the person was taken to court.

At every step of the process (to my understanding anyway), they apologised, and offered to retract the statements made, and even write an apology.

That person ended up with a fine from the courts, and a criminal conviction. For posting on a blog!!

Its the internet you can turn it off.

I dont want this site becoming a namby pamby, lilly livered liberal site where you can't express an opinion because you are afraid you'll upset somebody.

Debate, disagreement, conversation and sometimes arguement is all good. Theres a difference between this, what construes as banter and what is blatant personal attacks and name calling.

Some peeps on here have forthright and strongly held opinions, I might not agree with what they say, but I'll defend their right to say it. Whether I like it or not.

If you dont like something report it to a mod, dont start a thread moaning about it, its not productive and doesnt really solve anything.

People get banned, but they have to seriously seriously cross the line of whats acceptable behaviour after repeated warnings before it happens.

Perhaps they dont want you to do that, If somebody was offended by a thread or a post, they should report it to a mod and let the mod deal with it.

What we dont need is people taking offense on somebody elses behalf when the person the thread or post that you didnt like was directed wasnt actually offended by it in the first place.

Actually I think this is THE BEST forum on the net.
Most members here tend to moderate themselves very well and get along with each other better than any other forum I've seen.
When someone does post something a little off the cuff, most people here simply ignore it and go on rather than jumping into or starting an argument.

Besides ...How boring would it be if we all had the opinion about everything???

agree....

PEOPLE HAVE so taken the first post in the wrong context.

Recently the org lost a good memebr becasue of somebody else. The person that left must have really felt something if the feelings were strong enough for them to leave.

That was the point...and it had been noticed elsewhere.
