Hi all

Well after 4 years and 2 SVs I decided it was time for something different. And WOW!!! What a difference!! If you get the chance to take a ride on one then I would whole-heartedly recommend it. Truly awesome bike.

A Triple? MMMmmmm. sounds good :flower:

I suspect my perceptions are wrong, but Triumphs always come accross to me as heavy bikes.....probably comes from when the "New" triumphs were launched and they went for very conservative to ensure that the reliability reputation was knocked on the head.

There's no way you can call a 675 heavy. The early triples were, even the later Daytona 955is were, but not the 675.

Nice bike.

Any truth in the rumour that the 675 Daytona is getting some upgrades for next year?

Cheers Mark! Wait till it's had its first service then I'll come up to Hartside and you can show me how to really ride it!! ;) btw your new steed looks very nice and there should be enough room in those panniers for all your camera equipment ;)

I was at Devils this afternoon, did you make it there at all today?

Hope you and your family are all well fella.

Yeah I heard that too, think it was in MCN so thats going to be spot on accurate then  but have heard it somewhere else as well, Id love one, but would need to have it lowered about 4 inches to get me leg over, so thats another non starter then, damn these short stumpy legs, V nice looking bike btw, enjoy it.

They look nice but are waaay too small for me! The SV feels lke its about 3 foot longer!

Why can't they make good sports bikes that 6 foot + people can fit on properly?

You can't be that short surely? I mean I can manage on it and I'm a shortar se.

It's a very tempting bike, but I'd be worried about comfort over a distance and the lack of storage space.

I have heard a few things and I'm in too mind whether or not to hold out until winter to see if they come of anything, I heard it in MCN and then asked the guy I know at pidcocks nottingham and he had heard stuff from the factory but couldnt confirm it. Its long overdue they havnt changed in a few years.

I'm about 5'9" and I can easily touch both feet fully on the floor on the standard suspension setup. I believe seat height is 825mm compared to 800mm on the SVS, so it's only an inch higher. You do feel more perched on it than the SV however, it's more like you're sat 'on' the bike rather than sat 'in' the bike, as I did with the SV.

I did 200 miles on it across a ten hour ride on Saturday and my right wrist ached a little at the end of the day but I used to get that same aching wrist on the SV so it's more likely I've got a weak right wrist than the riding position being comparatively worse. I didn't notice any other aches or pains elsewhere, including my backside!

The lack of storage space is a bit of a killer tbh. I know the SV didn't exactly have a huge underseat area to stash stuff but at least I could store my sunglasses case and camera. There's absolutely no room at all for anything on the 675 which means I have to put said items in the inside pockets of my leathers and that's just plain uncomfortable. I think I'll have to invest in some kind of bum/waist bag. I guess you don't buy a bike as focused as the Daytona to cart load of stuff around!

I really would recommend trying a test ride on one if you have any kind of interest in one, I'm pretty sure the sublime power delivery, sharp handling, excellent brakes and gorgeous looks will win over a few hearts!

Thanks to everyone who has posted comments on the bike!

Its not actually the seat height which is the problem, its the seat width, a lot of sportsbikes splay your legs out , its a right pain tbh.

Stewie, this is one narrow beast. Not wide at all. Skinny in fact.

You're just making excuses like me now! It's really narrow. Honest, you'll manage OK if you can handle yer bum feeling like it's higher than your head. It's a "focussed" ride position for sure. Not done the test ride yet, but sat on a few.

Hi melody

Thanks for the kind comments. The top picture was taken on the road that drops down into Draughton, just off the A65, about 5 miles past Ilkley. I was on my way to Devils via Ribblehead and Ingleton at the time. :)
