Just thought I'd share this with you guys...

Been on Diabolo Corsa III's for the past 2 years and could not see past them on the ZX6r. Getting on average 1200 - 1400 on a rear.

However - travelling up and down from Kinross to Hexham I got some PR2s fitted for the long drive. I have to say that these tyres are just phenomenal. And I really mean it. I've done 10k on them and they are still like new. I have absolutely ragged them senseless and they handle anything you can throw at them. The wear is sensational. (I'll post photos soon).

I've ran them at the recommended 42 - 36 for a while but for the whole if this year been runnung them at 34 30 and I thought they would wear quicker than the soap in a nunnery. Nope. These babies just grip grip grip...but I am pushing them real hard.

Was out with a friend who is a racer at Knockhill in the 400 class last Tuesday. We were going through the "sma glen" road in the wet. He was amazed because he was holding me up. He was on a Gixxer K4 600 on bridgestones. In the dry I matched him to a point but this is a racer so...make your own mind up.

No...I don't work for Michelin - I just think that there's so much about tyres these days that it's worth trying these - you will be totally amazed at the lifespan.

Hope that helps anyone thinking about new tyres.

EDIT: For the same mileage I would have went through approx 5 sets of Corsa IIIs. My riding hasn't changed one bit.

10,000 miles, that is impressive, I just can't see how that is possible to make a tyre that last that long and retain any sort of grip ...

Personally I am hater of all things Michelin as I have tried several of their tyres over the years and they have always proven to be highly unpredictable, especially when cold, but I have to say those mileages are impressive!! 8)

Ive had them on the SV650 feld GREAT! I changed the origional diablo's on the Falco cos they felt crap LOVE the PR2's they feel great in all circumstance, even when ragged they just kept gripping! Even in the wet they feel fab. :D

Glad someone else is a fan. I think my rear on the SV had done about 7thousand miles when I stopped riding it and they were starting to flatten off but thats down to me having a 90 miles almost streight line commute so youd expect them to a bit, still LOTS of life left in them. If you spend most of your time in the corners then I think 10K miles would be pretty easy to do. :)

My dad has been using them for a while as well and he rates them very high, im pretty sure me and him will be sticking with them. So if you are thinking of new tyre's then Yes Id DEFFO recommend Pilot Road 2's!

Have fun! :)

Ah, but don't think the sports are dual compound, are they?

narr they arnt but id say they are a harder compound altogether the PR sport, OOO and they were on the 1000 might be a tad harder on the tyres.

Sounds like an ideal tyre for my visit to France. I think any dedicated sports tyre will struggle to last the week. I'm gonna give them puppies a try.

We get around 5,000 out of a rear PR2, about 30% more than we were getting from the Diablo's, and 4,000 more than we got from the BT014:D

These are the sports touring type. They have hard centre and nice soft outside for the twisties so you get the best of both worlds. High wear and great side wall grip. :D Side walls from what im told is the sports rubber. ;)

People must change their tyre's well before they get to being illegal I swear. Ive got about 3K miles out of my rear and its no where near ready for change N' that on a thou.
