i didn't buy one just wanted a good old nose :) the local stealer was closed but i found one at CMC Bikes in cannock, £5999 for a 07 model with 1700miles on the clock, nice bike and i'll prob have one but i'm torn between that and the gsxr 600/750? the gixer k7 is loverly but i cant quite get my head round the look of the k8 model? i think the 675 wins hands down in the looks department.

Funny u should say that mate!

the GSX-R 750 is what i want next, i love the K6/K7 but like u im not sure about the K8.

For a start, i just cant really bring myself to like the eagle shaped lights :( and that exhaust is just minging!! (although i know it could be changed)

I went down to have another look at them in the flesh today, and it just feels so light, manageable and racy compared to the SV (obviously), and the one thing i do like is the 3 different engine maps that u can change like on its bigger brother, the 1000.

mmmm, when to put a deposit down?!!:D

Defo wont be buying from SW Superbikes though as their bikes seem sooooo overpriced!!

I was going to ride out to the trumpet dealer in Bournemouth yesterday, but having a positive bank balance I thought it might be a bad idea.

I wouldnt mind a go of a 675 to see what they are like :) I suppose I could stretch to another cylinder one day... Naaa :p

With this exhaust (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVBVoXNuHWc&feature=related) Id say I agree. It sounds pretty sweet. No V-twin but sweet all the same. :D

Indeed... Why cant they make a V3? Then that would be F-ing cool! :p

Here is the (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrE_At1bZgQ&feature=related) best V-twin sound track I could find on U-tube. Got IL4's too...

Why is it that Mic's just cant pickup the true sound of a V-twin? Man if we were there it wouldn't sound like loud farts like they do in most vids... It would be orgasmic :p

Must admit, I've been hankerin' after the Tiger 1050 for a while now. There are some real deals out there on second hand ones!

I was looking at one the other day, almost had the credit card out to put the deposit down when Mrs BP came home. The upshot is that we now have some lovely new curtains......

For the K8 600/750, have a good nose round the bike. If you can get past the headlight, the rest of it has some very nice touches, it's small things and takes a while to notice and appreciate, but it's got some really nice bodywork on it. Oh, and have a test ride :smt077

I've never liked the 675, too tall thin and skinny looking, but my word that sound is amazing.

TBH although the height would suit you Pete, the bike itself would disappoint you. If you like sporty numbers the tiger ain't for you. My colleague at work went from CBR to Mille to Tiger 1050 (purely because of commuting and insurance on the mille) hes as tall as you and thats where it ended with him. He found it dull to say the least, had it for about 3 months and went to trade it in for an R1........which he highsided 4 weeks later and is still recovering from the injuries...ooops

Oh.

Don't tell Mrs BP aboout the R1, although I'll never own anything like it, tales of crashes don't go down well!

Pete

Oh, and don't tell Moses i've been thinking of other bikes, FZ1's were discussed at length in Llanberis!

completely pointless.

at the end of the day Pete its down to personal preference. Just because one person doesn't like, don't mean another will. Don't let me put ya orf, my colleague may have found it a let down due to the superiority of the MIlle, go find out for curiousity.

I'd like to try the 675, for curiousity of course, apparently I'd find it too tall....to which I doubt as the only bike I've never been able to put my feet down flat to the floor on was the Triumph trophy, which belonged to a hugely tall guy.....why do guys think that all girls have a problem with tall bikes? Also I was told that i may not like the sharp handling....with that I'm sure they'd be right. Then again I'm a VTwin diehard....mmmmmmm Xtra Raptor 1000:-)

Never said you wouldn't be able to get your feet down, just that they are tall bikes!

Hmmm not sure!

Never heard one "in the flesh" with an exhaust system like mine. They do sound rather angry :-D

LOL... Yea you got it. No. Its no good for me tbh. I need something that is good in a hustle and can do the distance. 100+ Mile trips that I do a LOT would be no fun on these (out and out) sports bikes. The falco is sporty enough to be DAMN quick and comfortable enough to do the distance. :D + its a V-twin....

Can you tell I like V-twins? :---)

The 675 is a lovely bike but getting on a bit now by its sector standards. I thought there were rumours of a replacement in one of the bike mags recently - anyone else see that?

I recently got a K6 750 and I think it looks fab, sounds good (especially air intake) but didn't buy it for either of these reasons - I got it as I can't imagine anything else for me that feels as good to ride. The K8 has marginal changes (that's all it needed) and that silly 3 map switch which my mate swears is great on his 1000 but can't imagine it would be useful on 750. Get a test ride and take it for a few hours. Once you get used to the harder set up and feedback I reckon you'll want one :D

The rumours on the 09 675 is revised top fairing/headlight design and a underslung R6-esqe exhaust.

Heard it here first folks! (ripped off of www.triumph675.net )
