Dan, are you free one night this week for some kneedown tuition??
Was out tonight following (well, trying to) a GSXR1000 round the Bracknell roundabouts watching him kneedown every bend.. Sparks everywhere, man it looked cool :cool:
I can't seem to get the right position, maybe not leaning enough?? Would be cool to follow you around and watch how you do it :D

Bugger, only just saw this. I took two other people round those bends this week about 4 times each and they weren't able to do it but I've worn out two pairs of sliders. How about Thursday eve?

Hehe, this should be a giggle. Just need to watch out for rozzers. Never had any problems there before and I've been round about 20 times one afternoon.

There is a sweeping left hander in Bracknell thats perfect for knee downs on that side................... So they tell me :rolleyes:

Technically, knee down isn't illegal is it? Going round a roundabout more than 2 or 3 times is though - I think..

Yes. Riding without due care or dangerous driving/riding. Got caught once by the point in Bracknell, got told off but also gave me kudos as he couldn't do it. Thing is I did it early on a Sunday morning when there was no traffic about so he let me off.:rolleyes:

Yep. My right kneeslider is a bit mullered though, it's sort of hanging off where I've melted the velcro. Will have to be a bit careful on that side. S'all good, I'm a leftie anyway. :p

Yarg that was fun. Although I lost a slider somehow :confused: Nick, you were leaning much more towads the end,that's what you want, then just perfect the 'leaning off like ambidextrous gibbon' technique. :cool:

Cheers Dan and Ape.. Didn't get kneedown or even close but learn't a bit about cornering :-)
I really need to get more comfortable going quicker and leaning more round the bends before trying to hang off and scrape.. Was leaning more at the end and got the chicken strips down to mm's :-)

Where was the vid of nicks attempt! I wanna see. Keep at it fella, i still aint got it. I realised that 50% of the time i go out with my leathers on (4 times in total) I fall off - that doesn't bode well for the trackday hehe!

Ah yes, you did see the vid of me on a 7R on the very same bend. Get the lean angle and corner speed right first, then start hanging off the bike. A telltale sign that you are leaning enough is if you can get the pegs or your toes down while sat bolt upright on the bike. One of the things me and Ape noticed was teh Nick was very cautious just riding round the bend to begin with, as he was thinking about too many things. It's true of most kneedown apprentices. ;) Practice will get you there though.

No vid of me as Ape said.. It wouldn't have been worth posting anyway, I was trying to video Dan from onboard my bike but couldn't keep up round the bend!! Only had about 5 or 6 attempts as it takes a while to complete the circuit and to it again, traffic and traffic lights don't help :rolleyes:

The plastic sliders have titanium bolts inside. Titanium + asphalt + speed = sparklies! :D

From Twin bridges roundabout head towards South Hill Park. There is a left turn on the dual carriadgeway which leads towards the industrial estate (and the 329). It's that bend. :D

I've been attempting to get my knee down. I've had my boot and both pegs down but not the knee yet, just need to lean off the bike a bit more I guess.

Ah yes I rememI always assume that they'll be red. Which they were most time we came to that bit. It' before the rounabout anyway so plenty of time to stop.
