I'm after an undamaged 675 tank and have been watching eBay like a hawk for the past 3 weeks. This popped up yesterday, which looks perfect:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180238750747&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=008

However, would any one here be wary of it? There are still no pictures and it ends on friday morning. The guy has good feedback, but I'm a little reluctant to bid on something I can't even see a pic of. Problem is, undamaged 675 tanks in graphite are like hen's teeth, so if it is what he says it is, I don't want to miss out! I have emailed the seller, but as yet have had no reply

Opinions please :)

I would guess that it comes down to how much you can afford to lose if it is a duffer/scam/whatever...

...balanced with the possibility that it might be A ok - it's a bit surprising that the seller hasn't put a piccy up - is it worth suggesting a visit or something before you pay? Even if you did win it, you could say that you are reluctant to pay until you've seen it (suggest this before hand) - you risk negative feedback but so what? All you are doing is following the maxim - caveat emptor - buyer beware.

If it's not as described it wouldn't be anyway, if its not mint it's not what was bid on.

well the item is as new so he can't sell it if it is not 100% without creating problems for himself. He has quite a few items, ll the 675 parts are without photos so I wonder if he has them in right now - the GSXR parts are all photographed. I'd make sure he is holding the tank or has he just been promised it in which case he can take some photos

You got someone in the UK that will send it on to you as he says postage to UK only?

Not my style - I believe in honesty. Too many crooks on ebay without me adding to the mix!

I think I'll go for it. I have had a very kind offer from a .orger to pick it up for me!

I'm coming back to the UK at the end of the month so I'll collect it and send it to myself!

Silly question, but have you emailed him to ask why there aren't any pics up? Seeing as he says "As in Picture" and there isn't one there.

No need as sellers can't neg you anymore.

Anyway I would have no hesitation in bidding to win this auction and then collect in person (as you're coming to london) and only pay if it is as described.

I would give him the benefit of the doubt that he's been away for Bank holiday & hasn't posted a pic yet or replied to emails.

Feedback looks good & too high to be false.

Hmm, I sold a guitar at the end of february and I do have the option to leave negative feedback for the buyer. I thought the new changes were more about retaliatory feedback?

BTW, I'd happily bid on that and pay by paypal, I've always had good results with the paypal protection in the event of items going wrong, and his description is very clear.

Oh well I could be wrong - it's just my understanding of what they were trying to bring in. Not that I've any practical experience of it.

Mate, if you can't trust someone with 474 and 100% feedback then who can you trust??

He's had 45 in the last month and they all look good.

No alarm bells ringing here...

It was just the lack of picture and lack of communication - Didn't set alarm bells ringing - Was just cautious at buying something blind from someone who would respond to any questions!

Didn't win it anyway - There was someone else just a little bit keener than me :(

Luke, I'll ask up the road at my local Triumph dealer for you. My mate Olie Linsdell's family own the place and there may well be one kicking around somewhere, or they may have a spare for last year's race bike.

Do you need any other bodywork parts while I'm there? They've stripped 2 or 3 for racing so there should be some stuff left over.
