Bought my SV650s from MMC in St Helens last week, and am currently waiting on the insurance cover note so the lads in MMC can tax it.

Been onto Bennetts, and they have told me it was posted last week but it's still not arrived!!!! :smt088

Can't tax the bike - so can't pick it up.

Waited over a week now, and want to get out on her ASAP.

SO ANNOYED!!!

Could be another few days, so might not even have it over the weekend.

Gutted.

Any idea's waht I can do?

Bennetts won't send me out another copy via next day registered post - It's not something they do apparently :mad:

get them to email you a copy, that'll do for the tax.

Have you got the V5 and is it registered in your name. If so you could try taxing it online via the DVLA website.

I would have expected the policy documentation within 2 or 3 days to be honest!

I use ebike insurance, when I got mine I just printed a cover note from the PDF copy that they send you via email, this seemed fine for the bike shop to gett he tax.

Bennetts have been a bit slow recently, took 6 working days to get the note for my new bike, it was a bank holiday on Monday remember and the day you set it up doesn't really count.

Just a thought - Go to a different insurer, get the cover note, give it to dealer, cancel within the 14 day cool off.

Bennets are fking useless, took them over a week to get insurance cert. out to me too. Also didn't appear on DVLA computer for a week either despite being paid for in full.

Bennetts not able to post it out to me next day delivery (even though I will pay for it!) or email me it either. Shocking.

In today's modern world, I find it shocking we still have to wait on bloody royal mail!! ARRRGH!!!

Anyway - spoke to the bike shop, and they may be able to tax the bike from there insurance. Will mean another registered keeper on the log book, but I'd rather that than have to live without transport for another week.

Will keep you posted!!!!

I feel for you pal. The same happened to me when I just bought my new bike the other week, I only had to wait 4 days and it was excrutiating for me..

I just wanted to get out on it..

Fingers crossed for a quick turn around for you

Just got off the phone to the garage...... They are going to tax it on their insurance! Excellent stuff!!

A few extra bits needed in its MOT and service (New tyre and the Remus Can on it is not road legal!) so mechanics working on that at the moment.

Should be able to pick her up late tomorrow afternoon! Excellent!!

Must say as well - the lads at MMC in St Helens are spot on!

You haven't had the bill yet ;-)

Only just bought the bike, so this is all part of the initial price.

Service, MOT and 12 months Parts & Labour warranty all included

An extra owner on the history could cost you £100 when it comes to sell on. Why don't you just do it online? you don't need the insurance paperwork if Bennets have registered that it is insured. :???:

DVLA system is not up to date with the fact that I am the owner - so that's not possible. That will take a few days to process too ....
