I was just reading Plowsies thread about TL1000's in another area.

I mentioned that I have no idea how it feels to ride a restricted bike compared to it's unrestriced counterpart because I did DAS because I was old enough, then I realised I did my test in October 2003... that's 4 and half years ago...

OH MY GOD...

I'm not old, only 29, but I keep forgetting. How did it get that long ago???

Anyone else have these 'senior' moments and suddenly realise that they are not 18 anymore?

yes all the time when i am dicking about with my mates and realise we look so childish at 29 and cant get away with it anymore like we could at 18.

It's only a number. If you weren't counting you wouldn't feel any different and wouldn't get worked up about it.

Now excuse me whilst I contemplate my mortality and begin to freak out at being just past halfway to 50.

Tell me about it! Then you realise you not thirty anymore, then forty... :( Still behave like a big kid though, so all good! My daughter is 24 this year and my boy 21!!! How did that happen? If you let it get to you, you feel old PDQ.

My solution is to hang about with you youngsters and tell you stories about the war....

Ha haa. No probs.
Not hung up about it, just a realisation moment.

My philosophy:

Grow old.. NOT UP!!!

When I was in bed with a 21 yr old last year, and she mentioned she was born in 1986. I was a workshop manager then, earning huge bucks with my own house and driving a BMW.

I'm only 5, that why I like running about with nothin' on. I did my test back in 99 or something, though I'd been riding 125's and 50's for 3 years.

I was in bed with a 21 year old in 1986 as well, so I'd have to say all of it.

Anyone else have these 'senior' moments and suddenly realise that they are not 18 anymore?

Yep every time I unzip my new Hein Gericke leather jacket, my beer belly cries a sigh of relief!! and I can breathe again, but it is a real genuine medical condition........my chest has slipped....honestly.....:-k

Also after I returned to biking after a 4.5 year lay off I went out on the first day I got my bike and done 90 miles not much I know but the next day I actually ached .....

And whenever I mention the blade in the Urban Tiger colours .....anyone know what I'm talking about ?

I'm 36 and with the way I have lived my life in the past well past middle aged !

Lol. Yep, I get those 'senior' moments too. Usually happens when I'm at work, looking after 18 year olds having baby number 2. Makes me realise I could have been a mum to a teenager by now :) and a grandmother in a few years times.

When I'm thinking rationally, I realise I'm not old at all and I still feel 18ish. :drink:

Has anyone else seen the occasional 'birthday' banner about that says "Happy 30th Nana". I was a little shocked I can say.

I know that feeling not that i look after new mums but the bit about being old enough to have an 18 year old son or daughter.

My husband is 25 he keeps me young, i think i still have a young outlook and i don't feel any older than 18 anyway and according to one guy last week i don't look my age either

as for senior moments at the i start conversations and then forget what i was saying half way through

Hmmm i know, i am now a great uncle (please no Womble jokes - they been done to death) and my daughter is 3 years older than her mum was having her. My son is almost the age I was when my daughter was born! I could easily be a grandad.

So, as said earlier.....

I was just gone 19 when my eldest daughter was born, her mum was just turned 18. Caz is 27 now and I still feel like I'm the same age as she is.

I have those sort of moments. I'm nearly 22; about to finish uni. I started when i was 18.

Time has flown by!

Anyone else have these 'senior' moments and suddenly realise that they are not 18 anymore?

yep, those moments include forgetting what it is I've gone into the next room for, writing shopping lists and never taking them, printing off assignments then forgetting to take them when on way to hand them in, getting to the top of the four flights of stairs in my house and thinking my knees are going to implode...

Tis even worse when you realise it was only 2 years since you went 18! They say people age quicker these days

I realise I'm probably just very scatty

You, young man, need to read "The History of the motorcycle" by AndrewR. Unfortunately I don't get a mention. In all honesty, it makes even more sense and is a lot funnier if you know the people referred to in the text.

All of them well worth taking the time and trouble to read if you enjoy reading abstract silliness.
