?400 for a proper Origami was/would have been a steal!! :eye:

Its a shame you don't want to go (I am sure you could 'find' the money if you really had to ;) .. bearing in mind I am currently unemployed, it is hardly a wise idea for me to go ), it was a great laugh last time!! :(

Maybe worth chucking this in the south west surfers section aswell, theres quite a few from that area.

Looked at the website but not sure what you're talking about.
Can you explain how much it is including hire? So would I wear my own leathers & helmet?
Will I get my knee down? ;)

Give them a ring for exacting details. But I think it is £10 for a 15min session (might be £15 for 10??) (please phone as I am not sure on the money/time). That is basically for one if their hire bikes inc fuel. They will supply kneeslider/pads too I think ... :) .. unlike indoor kart tracks where the hire karts are dog slow, their hire bikes are actually f-quick!!

As for stuff to take, you can take your leathers, but to be honest, trying to make the 'shapes' in leathers might be a bit tricky!! ;) I have never even entertained the idea of doing it in leathers!! :o

If it helps, I wear just a boiler suit with jeans underneath, some old motorcycle gloves, a lid and some trainers.

Where it is indoors it is concrete with a protective layer, not tarmac, so you don't need the abrasion resistance of leathers, I have fallen off loads of times in my boiler suit and abrasion has never been a problem! 8)

So, bring full leathers along if you like, but bring a boiler suit and jeans and a jumper too (you don't need a boiler suit , it just keeps the muck off the jeans).

Oh and yes, I'd be surprised if you DIDN't get your kneedown ;)

don?t wear leathers as it will restrict you....

i usually wear jeans and a old jacket if its cold.

the hire bikes are nothing compared to robs RR blue have a go on it!

Oh and if you have a go on blues shed youl never get your knee down :D;)

His old bike was pretty hot ... brakes tyres, power and the RR is twice as powerful right?? ...

Hey, my 'shed' was a fair match for your super-cool bike :p

Go on ... you know you wanna go 8)

That is true, I was purposely making myself 'wide' as you had more drive out of the turns .... but it is not like you could get away when I was behind ;) ... although you could dart away out of the turns, on the overall lap I could get that deficit back and I was right up your chuff lap after lap!! 8)

Ok, I phoned up. Its open for minimoto from 5pm tomorrow (Sunday) until 9pm.

I'll be getting there just after 4 to get set up etc :)

For those wondering how much it is for hire bikes

?10 = 1 x 10 minutes
?18 = 2 x 10 minutes
?25 = 3 x 10 minutes
?32 = 4 x 10 minutes
?40 = 6 x 10 minutes

That I think is really good VFM ... it costs me the best part of ?40 in fuel and entry fees to run my own bike there for the evening!!

This is me losing it  and my mate joining in!! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=LHZx-_iGobA

So there you go ... who is game someone ... anyone?!!?

Can't do it tomorrow, but maybe you could advise me on something. I got given a minimoto from a chap who couldn't get it running and couldn't be bothered sorting it. I had it going within an hour after cleaning out various parts. Anyway, it's just a cheap thing you could probably get off ebay new at £60 or something, but it goes ok and is getting my 11 year old used to riding something with a motor in it. Would it be worth running at Hullavington or would it be far too slow?

Yep, that is absolutely fine, I started off on a 'cag'* too 8)

*cag is a generic name for the sort of bike you got ... a bit like scooter covers all ... well scooters :D .. Cag is actually short for 'Cagliari' .. the factory/place where they are all made ;)

Looks great fun, I've had a brief go on one at a kart track in France and I'd love to have a proper go sometime. £40 for 6 x 10 min sessions sounds pretty reasonable to me. Shame it's so far away or I'd be there.

I've been meaning to give this a go for a while...

I'm not a confirmed but I maybe able to make it over for a quickie (as it were, so to speak). Would be good for someone who knows what their doing to show me the ropes?

I'll be in am old boiler suit with an old Aria lid - red, silver, black and yella (IIRC).

Happy to show you the ropes, but apart from a bit of advice on where to put ya feet etc, its just get on there and have some fun :)

Well that was a bit of fun!

2 sessions were enough for me for a first time. Only had the one big high side but its the riding position thats going to make me stiff come morning (fanar). And a SV feels really odd to ride straight after a Mini Moto...

Blue_SV650S
11-05-08, 10:33 PM
Just got back home!!

I thought you did smashing (no pun intended :D) for a first go!! :) As long as you don't get proper hurt, falling off is all part of the fun ... its funny, you didn't do a single low-side (very common) but you DID do a neat high side by the sounds!! 8) ).

As for the riding position ... now you know why I suggested NO leathers/boots ;) I just can't see it'd work can you!?!?

Although it gave you a great opportunity to concentrate on getting used to the bike, it's a shame the place was so deserted as there was no one else to play with really ... we need to get a few more people keen off here. 8)

The guy that worked there that knows suzsv650 said he could prolly wangle a discount if we got a few of us up there :)

Did anyone take any photos?!!? I didn't think k of it until now!

I'll be up for it next time, providing i'm here.

The SWS section seems the best option as there's quite a few from chippenham area. (bout 4 miles from hullavington)
Bristols only 20 miles or so.

Whereas for me I'd have to take the arvo off* as it is much further for me! ... also there is Friday afternoon/evening traffic that would hamper things further!! :(

*again, not a problem at the mo, but likely to be in the future so it might be a show-stopper!! :(

?20 for 6-10pm (i.e potential of 4 hrs) if you have your own bike. It is ?40 for 1hr on hire bikes.
