... eventually turn pink?
Discuss.
The light UV rays fade the colour.

:laughat:You paddled a long pointy thing, you deserved it.
"Why do red cars suddenly turn pink very time you are near..."
Oh and they dont turn pink if you look after them.
I once helped a friend turn a pink old shape porcshe into a red beast again with various grades of polish and a portable polishing machine.
ours is pink if you have a lead based paint on it it will be fine ours is water based (eco friendly apparently) and goes pink in the sun
it needs a damn good wash and wax me thinks

That's a good point, it doesn't seem to affect older cars sprayed with "proper" paint.
Doesn't seem to affect other colours as badly, either. The paint might not be as vibrant as when it was new but they don't seem to make such a distinct change as red one.
I work for a car company and we're not allowed to spec red as a company car, must be because they look rubbish 10 years down the line.
Can you tell I'm bored at work?
i for one despise red cars (except Ferrari) why to red cars look so bad? BMW, MERC, JAGUAR should NOT be red they should be sliver or black!

I got a red car and it is a be-atch ... I polish it and this time of year, 2 days later and it is fading again
I'd never let it get properly faded, but there is an overhead of polishing it at least once a week to keep the worst at bay, which is a bit ghey as I barely use the thing I seem to polish it more often than I drive it!! :(
