Today saw the back of two of my bikes, not normally one to sell bikes I tend to use them up, but these had to go as both were kick start, and that?s something I can no longer do.

However, one I was particularly attached to, having built it from a frame and boxes of bit?s back in 86 to a stunning example of BSA?s finest A65 Lightings, although I hadn?t used it since 2002, taking the cover off today and rolling it out into the sunshine, it looked as gorgeous as it ever did, sat on it and it just felt like coming home.

Got top money for it, and I?m being practical and all that, but dam will I miss that bike, feels like I?ve lost an arm or something, still onwards and upwards as they say.

Now down to 5 bikes left, 2 should be going in the summer, so only 3 after that, almost feels naked.

Bye, bye Beeza.

Cheers Mark.

What else are you going to part with then Rictus ?

Well Michelle will be having the SV once it's rebuilt, and then the large mountain of spares (which are still under V5) will go as well, the speed triple will be left for another year before I do anything more with it, that's a bike I really want to ride again at some point, even if it takes a shifter and a repositioned food rest.

Yeah, can't do old bikes or sport bikes anymore, just facing up to my limitations, not as young as I once was, this injury sort of focused things a bit.

Not all bad, the T'bird is a great bike and at some point I'll buy something totally indulgent as a plaything as I've never boughta bike without thinking of it's durability, just I've mentally moved on I guess.

Cheers Mark.

Can you post a pic of the BSA Mark? I'd love to see it.

Sorry to hear about that...

The speed triple you should definately keep, it sounds like something special that un even if you can't get on with rearsets on it!

Oh the Speed Triple is staying for now, although I won't look at it this year, just every now and again start it up.

Here's the two that are gone.

The BSA is gorgeous. If you'd advertised it here, I might have been tempted.

Cheers Mark.
