Whilst i am enjoying getting out on my bike in this hot sunny weather, i am starting to hate the flies! Im out for no more than half an hour and my visor has a layer of flies across it!

Im assuming this is a problem for all you bikers??!! How to get round it? Ride slower....;)

Ride quicker! That solves everything. :D

I just clean and polish the visor several times during a rideout.

How to get round it?

Bikini fairing, duck down behind the screen. ;)

Wet wipes under my seat, also keep a couple tucked under the screen just in case that big sucker decides to head butt you at 100mph.

They are good for cleaning leathers too, but beware if you clean your visor with them and then go into rain you can get a nasty smeary visor.

V2 sponge mate, brilliant! Get em from Mal Plates (google it) who also oddly enough do custom number plates as well ... which is nice :)

Riding with my visor up earlier 'cause it was that hot and I managed to get one in my eye :eye: ('cept I wasn't smiling!) Luckily, it was only 30 but, still, that was fast enough! No need to say I spent the rest of the ride with it down!

I had to clean my visor 3 times this morning and that was a nice early 6:20am start. V2 Sponge is great :-)

Way to rid the visor of flies on the move is to get spit on your finger rub it on the visor and then wipe of. Flies allll gone!

Should I start a thread with this advice? it really does work! Done it a few times today on my nice 300 mile trip :D

Country roads of a summers evening. The flies have been feeding of the cattle all day, and theres nothing they like more than to suicide on a bikers visor leaving a smear of legs, wings and bovine blood.

Another downside is the amount of money being poured into the tank. It's costing £16 to fill up each time.

I find if you turn your head to the side when at high speed, some of the bugs get blasted off the visor. The guy who was talking about having his visor up and a fly in his eye, this weekend I did a similar thing, except it was a bumble bee that hit me in the cheek at about 30, hurt like hell!!! I use screen wipes, they come in a re-sealable packet that fits in your pocket. About ?1.50 for 20 or so.

I tend to ride visor up and my aviators on, I get a fair few bugs splattered across my face but it's better than passing out from the heat, I have to say.
