hi i am mrs gid i don't like moterbikes but i thought i would say hi as he persuaed me to join. He wants me to ride on his bike but i would rather sit on a horse and one day i might try it but with three kids i don't find the time as i don't trust my stepson to watch the little ones :p

Hi Mrs gid,

I was also persuaded to join by t'other half even though hell will probably freeze over before I get on his bike with him (and also the reason for my avatar!)! ;)

I just like to know what on earth he's talking about for perhaps part of the time!

Hello Mrs Gid!! What puts you off bikes? Wear the right kit, and you're very safe. And I'm sure Gid would ride gently with you until you got used to it. Corners are daunting at first, until you realise that your best just sitting there like a sack of potatoes and leaning with the bike.

And theres seldom a better sensation than riding out in the countryside on a sumemrs morning, before it gets too hot.

Welcome to the forum, I'm the classy one with a topbox

I tried that once, it didn't appreciate being kickstarted like an old big single and pulled a wheelie - that's when I found out the handle bars are a bit loosely attached and countersteering doesn't work. The brakes are rubbish too.

+1

And there's no priority parking for them at the supermarket, not that they can carry a weeks worth of shopping very elegantly, mind you.

PS - hello mrsgid, you should have joined earlier by the sounds Gid recently :)

absolutely - bikes tend to do what you tell them to, but with horses you've got to reach an 'understanding' first!
