Hi,
I looked at a bike last night, and its had a respray, all vin and receipts add up etc, and its at the right price, but it was green and now its black. the V5 hasnt been updated yet, does this cost anything, or is it just fill out the form and send off?
Also should the change of colour effect insurance?
Thanks

Colour change is sometimes a sign of extensive repairs.
But not always.
Have another look with that in mind, look at mount points for the plastics etc, check for repairs to those as well as marks.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah i had a detailed look for signs of a serious off, its an old bike (1991), so i guess many things could have happened to need a respray. the frame looks good except a couple of small chips in the paint near the ends of the handle bars, which made me think it had had a tank slapper, but the steering stop on the frame looks fine. its very cheap, and old so im not expecting a minter, just as long as its not a lemon!
Hi,

It's not going to be an Sv if that's what you're confused about
Anyway there's a couple of green SVs on here ;)
yeah, I was confused about the colour and I missed the 1991 bit.
There was a link posted here to a green thou on ebay, I have to say I really liked it!

I've seen that green thou and I must say it looked absoluty brilliant . Having just had to do the tank and rear fairings anyway , for a few more quid I could have done the whole thing . Ah well ! missed out on that one .
