Yes, it is North Carolina. The Blue Ridge Parkway is in North Carolina & Virginia. The Parkway connects with the Skyline Drive in Virginia. There are many beautiful places around the world, just happen to have the Parkway within 1 1/2 hours ride from my home, so I like to take photos of the area when on rides. Many great roads to ride in the NC foothills and mountains. :)

Here's another pic of Route 80 in North Carolina.
(taken just up the road from your shot)
One of my favorite roads in that area.
Very little traffic there anytime.

BTW....You are illegally parked in your pic!! ;)

Nice photos!

No one else will know about the illegal parking will they?

I live in Denver, NC about a 1 hour ride to Morganton and 1 1/2 hours ride to Marion. I have a 170 mile round trip ride including Rt. 181 to Pineola on the Parkway, then back home. The route yesterday included Rt. 226A, Parkway, Rt. 80 and Golden Valley Road. It was a 210 mile round trip ride yesterday. The SV averaged 59MPG with speeds up to 70 MPH yesterday. Installing the K & N air filter helps fuel economy.

Let me know when you will be riding the area, so we can ride.:)

Will be down in June or July.
Probably June, will be in touch when the date is all set.
I usually stay either in Pineola or in Little Switzerland (on 226A).

Good roads you mentioned...
Also 221 south of Blowing Rock (formally the BRP) is a nice ride.

Spend much time during the summer riding in the mountains to get away from the heat in the lower elevations. Hope it works out for us to ride and we can post some photos!

It looks so beautiful:flower:

Someone over on triumph675.net was asking about routes in NC so I referred him to your last thread.

Plan to ride in the mountains some more this week.

Will be happy to help. There are some active rider groups in the NC mountains. :)
