Right I'm organising a Stag do for the end of July and would welcome a few suggestions for a weekend.

Firstly my mate isn't the biggest drinker in the world, and not into being a deviant drug taking dope smoking prostitue paying hedonist, so that counts out weekends to the 'Dam or eastern Europe.

So I'm basically looking for suggestions UK based, something a bit active and out of the ordinary for about 10 lads in their mid-late twenties. About 2/3 will be travelling from London and one third from Yorkshire, so somewhere between the two would be handy.

Of course we'll get him trollied one night and a stripper, if only for ourselves!
Some vague ideas so far:

Canal boat(s)
Caving?

That's about as far as I've got

But lacking that magic pizazz idea so far.

Go-carting can be a laugh and finishes early enough to get to the bar. I've been to the place in Milton Keynes, but I'm sure there are others closer to where you want to be.

Paintballing is a pretty safe choice I reckon - something active you can do during the day and then have a massive p**sup afterwards! Plenty of places around the country to do it too. It also lends itself to 'victimising' the stag a bit if you see what I mean (e.g. we're taking my mate paintballing as a surprise in a few weeks for his 30th, and getting him a bright pink t-shirt with a target painted on it!).

Indoor Snowboarding in Milton Keynes (basically a huge Helter Skelter) or how about good old fashioned QuadBiking and getting covered in muck :)

The last time I went stag paintballing we had to go home to bed at 4pm, completely shagged out, may have to have **** up another evening!

Thanks for the ideas, never done paintballing myself (where have I been for the past 28 years?? ) and although not original sounds a laugh. Karting always sounds good, could be a Sunday morning hangover clearer, although have a feeling that the stag won't be the best at it.

Any more random ideas welcome.

If you are willing to travel Newquay is a good destination. During the day you could go Surfing, kite buggying, mountain boarding, 70mph go karts or beach football. Plenty of bars and clubs for the evening and they now even have a strip club in the centre of town. Also there would be plenty of hen do's going on at the same time which is always a laugh. If you go there can i come actually the last one i went on down there was a right laugh from what i can remember.:drunken:

For my stag do last year we went paintballing, starting at about midday, then went to pub, then all back to mine for shower / change, then went to Jongleurs comedy club in the eve (all in Brum). It was brilliant. If you combine a few activities then different people can choose to do different elements, ie there were some that could only make the day, some the eve, etc.

Obviously, the hardcore did the full day and were completely knackered by the time we hit the 'gentlemens club' at about 2am.

Birmingham is a good central venue I think - easy to get to and from, lots of places to go out, relatively cheap and some cheap b&b's and hotels for people that are staying over.

Paintballing as a stag hurts. :smt068:crutches:

a few options i would throw into the mix are:
1) a place called 'go ape'. not sure how close one would be to you, but essentially its a high wire obsticle course. you get to clip in your own harness and off you go round to fun climbing stuff!
2)wakeboarding. any where with a cable tow set up, or book somewhere and get taken out on a boat for a day. such a good laugh even if you cant do it
3)classic go-karting/paintballing as been suggested

My friends not a big fan of watersports :( and the fact that I can surf, wakeboard, windsurf etc would mean it'd look like I was showing off!

Newquay is a bit of a trek from Teesside/Yorkshire for a few of us!

The go ape thing sounds quite a good idea, as does the comedy club as it mixes drinking with a little culture.

Cheers, you've got me thinking a little more.

I think there's a 'Go Ape' in Dalby Forest - not far for you, but a trek for Londoners.
By the way are any or all of the others bikers? If they are, what about an off road day. Don't blame me if nobody can walk for a day or two after!

as does the comedy club as it mixes drinking with a little culture.

Culture? Not been to Brum on a night out then?! :geek: Only joking mate, it is a good night out.

If you look on the Jongleurs website they actually do specials for stag do's where you all get a free beer on arrival and you get a nice special mention from the compere (sp?) to ensure the stag gets ripped a bit by the comedians. Also, although not exactly fine cuisine, they do decent food to soak up the alcohol.

Didn't stop me from puking up though....:smt078

I think the strip club has been close down, and besides, they weren't aloud to do full nude (my mate used to own it before you ask!).
