Cleared out my room yesterday and found 3.25Kg of loose change scattered around  Its mostly 1p's 2's and 5p's although there are loads of 10 and 20p's in there plus a few 50p's. Haven't counted it yet but am going to take it to one of those Coinstar machines in asda tonight, So my question is....
.....How much do people think it will tally up to???? :fish:
Clue: It fills a 1 litre bottle...

If anyone guesses it on the button it's there's. However, considering there's the odd foreign coin in there it'll be bloody hard! I'll need the exact amount and currencies :)

I don't have a guess, but I had two slightly-smaller-than-pint-size glasses (think 450-500ml) filled with coins (ok, one was overflowing, the other wasn't quite full). That had anything up to £1 in though.
Got around £60 for that little lot, not sure how much it weighed - would have thought 3kg+ - but can't say for sure!

Watch out tho, I those machines have a setting where you can donate your change to charity. Was waiting in a supermarket foyer a couple of years back and all of a sudden heard a "Nooooooo!" come from the guy who'd just donated his savings :D
Oh how i laughed.
Yeah, the machine takes 7.9% apparently....
Stop right now....

You can actually (with a bit of jiggerypokery / reading the screen properly) get those machines to do you a full receipt for the amount of shrapnel you put in, then toddle over to the customer service desk and demand your cash, if I errr....recall*
(assuming you're doing your bit for charity elsewhere of course, you won't feel guilty)
*Yes, I worked there many moons ago, and had a lot of stingy Manchester** people do this. Repeatedly. Each weekend.
**I have no grudge against any Mancunians. Honest.

Hmm.. I'll have a looksee, I'm always giving money to charity, I pay tax, and the government gives my money to those less fortunate for me. Its a good system........

Ok, copper coins weigh 3.56g per penny (the fact is 1p or 2p is irrelevant as a 2p is twice the weight of a 1p).
So it was ALL copper 3250grams is worth ?9.13.
But you say there were some 'silver coins' in there too .. without knowing proportions, I'd guess you probably only have ~£15 worth in total ...
EDIT: Doh ... just flicked through the thread ... you have already done it an it was ~£22  ...
I still like the way I tried to solve the problem though 8)
